Sahara Pizza House — Restaurant in Adelaide

We had high hopes for our visit to this local pizza place, given its positive reputation. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We ordered two family-size pizzas, a large, and a small, with different toppings. Despite our anticipation, all the pizzas tasted remarkably similar, like dry bread with overcooked cheese. The toppings were practically invisible.

To make matters worse, when we called to provide feedback, the owner was unresponsive and argumentative. Despite our genuine concerns and the fact that we hadn't consumed the large family-size pizzas, he insisted that we had enjoyed the prawn pizza and dismissed our dissatisfaction.

Our intention wasn't to seek a refund but rather to receive pizzas worth our money. However, the owner's rude demeanor and refusal to acknowledge the issues left us with no choice but to leave the uneaten pizzas behind and exit the establishment.

This was an unfortunate customer service experience that we hope the management will address for the sake of future patrons.

PS- Just because this place has been around forever and folks usually love the pizzas doesn't mean they can brush off every complaint. Food is delicious, best chips ever (try the Sahara Secret Spice), and salad especially fresh. I really bit off more than I could chew with the Combination A.B. but it was so delicious I couldn't stop! It was lucky my husband was sneaking those crispy chips or I would have had to forego the light and fresh Basboosa (a semolina syrup cake with a hint of coconut). It was sweet, but not too sweet, in fact it was perfect to finish the meal with coffee. The team there are also friendly and efficient. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I've been ordering from here for years and their service never disappoints. Their shop is super clean and their menu has heaps of great options (my favourite is a classic Hawaiian though!) The owners are lovely and kind people who clearly put a lot of love into their food.

Their pizzas are always hot and fresh, with a perfectly cooked crispy crust, and they are very generous with the toppings and cheese. A thing of beauty, chef's kiss!
