Torquay Front Beach is definitely worth a walk along, perhaps a swim with the family or the sharing of some fish and chips on the grass.

It is a popular place for families due to the grassy embankment, various facilities including toilets, BBQ and tables. There are parking bays, including disability, all around it and seems quite a safe area.

The bay surrounding the beach is one of the calmest in the area, which is easier for those learning to swim, small children and the less confident swimmers. Point Danger is found at the right tip of the beach. There is a lookout there and an ANZAC memorial worth checking out. Apart from swimming, it is a popular place to SUP and snorkel around the corner at the Point Danger Marine Sanctuary at low tide. There are specific rules and timeshares for dog walking - be sure to check the signs leading onto the beach and use the doggy bags supplied, to collect any waste.

You will notice well-defined walking tracks along the foreshore that lead to the surf beach/back beach and Rocky Point. These are part of the Surf Coast Walk, which is explained on signs around Torquay and further to Jan Juc and Bells Beach. The Torquay Surf Life Saving Club headquarters are found at the Back Beach, with an area marked with the flags on both beaches.

Torquay Front Beach runs along the Esplanade and town centre and is littered with popular cafes and restaurants [see a few photos of some you may see]. In the middle of summer, you may even find some food trucks, depending on COVID-19 restrictions. There is still the 1.5m spacing needed, but as the beach is vast, that is no problem. The beach itself has a few entry points, some with paths, stairs and sand entry. It is easily accessible for all, including those with...

Torquay Front Beach, located along Victoriaโ€™s stunning Surf Coast, offers a picturesque and family-friendly seaside experience. The beach boasts calm, shallow waters ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and relaxing with young children. Its golden sands stretch invitingly along the foreshore, perfect for sunbathing or a leisurely stroll. The beach is well-maintained, with clean amenities, grassy picnic areas, and nearby cafes and shops that add to its convenience and charm. One of the standout features is the scenic Esplanade, which runs parallel to the beach and provides easy access, beautiful views, and a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're enjoying fish and chips on the grass or watching the sunset over the water, the ambiance is peaceful and welcoming. While Torquay is known for its surf culture, Front Beach offers a gentler alternative to the nearby surf breaks, making it a great spot for those seeking a more relaxed coastal experience. It can get busy during peak summer months, but the vibe remains friendly and laid-back. Overall, Torquay Front Beach is a delightful destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike, combining natural beauty with accessibility and a touch of...
