I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Tilba Real Dairy during my visit to Central Tilba. This charming local dairy shop truly captures the spirit of the region with its delicious, high-quality products and welcoming atmosphere.
I purchased several of their local products, including a few varieties of their handmade cheeses, and I have to say â they were exceptional. The cheeses were rich, creamy, and full of flavor, clearly crafted with a lot of care and expertise. You can immediately taste the difference that fresh, high-quality Jersey milk makes. I also tried their yogurt, which was incredibly smooth and had just the right balance of sweetness and tanginess.
To complement my shopping experience, I ordered an iced coffee from their little cafĂŠ corner â and it was absolutely spot on. Refreshing, flavorful, and served with a friendly smile, it was the perfect treat on a warm day.
The shop itself is full of character, located in a beautifully preserved heritage building that adds to the overall experience. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to offer tastings and recommendations.
Visiting Tilba Real Dairy felt like a true highlight of my trip to this beautiful region. I would highly recommend stopping by if you're in Central Tilba â whether you're looking for fresh local produce, a good coffee, or simply a taste of authentic Australian craftsmanship. I'll...
Read moreWe came all the way here because some friends recommended we try their famous cheeses. Now, Iâm not questioning the quality of the cheeses (I only tried two â the 3-year and the 12-month â and honestly, they didnât seem anything special), but I was really disappointed with the service.
There were two girls at the shop and when we asked to do a tasting, or at least to try the cheeses before buying, they told us that âbecause of the slow dayâ they hadnât set up the tasting. No problem, we thought â our main interest was simply to know what we were about to buy.
Besides the two cheeses I tasted, I also asked to try one of the blues (either one), but they said there was none available for tasting.
I was honestly really disappointed â not even the courtesy to explain the cheeses to us, nothing at all.
Luckily for them, weâre good eaters and still bought some products to try, trusting our friendsâ...
Read moreVery steep car park. No disabled parking spaces at all any where, although it would have been simple to incorporate some at the top level to meet the Australian standard for a car park of this size ...but no. Or there is room for one or two disabled parking spots directly out the front. But again no. No hand rails on the viciously steep ramp to the lower car park (I simply couldnât get up, and had to be redriven to the top). While they get a constant stream of visitors and even coaches visiting - gents toilets are also not accessible as they are down three steps - and they are pretty old and disgusting anyway. There is no separate disabled toilet available. When we asked about the lack of disabled parking the staff said âoh yeah I suppose there isnât is thereâ. Shop not that great anyway, there is cheese but otherwise touristy stuff. Disabled discrimination is alive and well...
