Sweetwater Tilba — Restaurant in Central Tilba

Ring and book with the resturant, yes I like that, able to ask a direct question. No early/late booking slot, yes I like that. With a short drive from Naroomra to the plenty of parking close by. Well what has Narooma missed out on, this will only go on to be the place to eat in the area of western San Tilba. Reading the menu the food was not to my meat and chips level, but was I suprised when the perfect cooked porkbelly was tasted with the (dont pay for extra) vegies (which I dont normally do) and a taste to die for sauce just made it for me. The wife had the sea food thing (something in a shell) which was she said was fantastic, rounded off with a yummy desert in white chocolate, and a couple of drinks. The atmosphere was buzzing with a Fargo style bar and period fittings which was a great choice and (good) different. I was chatting with one of the lovely Tilba locals in the main street about my sister joining me in town to explore options for my upcoming wedding plans. She said “Well head up to Scroggies & have yourselves a cocktail & I’m sure a few ideas will pop into your heads”…. Me:’ Scroggies??! What’s Scroggies?’ She: Scroggies a top bloke, always up for a chat, well connected, very friendly. I reckon he can help you out. Plus he makes a great cocktail. Oh the place is called ‘Sweetwater Saloon’ but we all just call it “Scroggies’ . Me: ‘Perfect” So when my sister arrived in town, that’s exactly what we did. We went down to Scroggies, he made the best old fashion, gave us plenty of local contacts & ideas, and even provided us a bag of hardwood to take back to our accommodation for a fire pit that night. WOW! What an incredible experience. Stepping into this space is both enticing and warmly welcoming.

We went in and found looking through the various records, jackets, and retro bits and bobs for sale very interesting. We sat in the comfortable seats sourounding their stunning bar to enjoy a delicious, well-balanced coffee.

Scroggy was such a vibrant character, sharing stories and jokes which filled us with joy and love for life! This is by far the most memorable coffee experience we've had, and the Sweetwater sticker is an exciting addition to our motorhome.

I will take every opportunity to return often and look forward to trying some cocktails next time! The pork burger from Nancy's Deli food van on-site was amazing, also. I'd go as far as saying it was the best burger I've ever eaten.
