Tilba Bakery — Restaurant in Central Tilba

The bakery, from the outside, looks very clean and inviting and also has a place to sit and relax as you eat, the inside is very clean and well organised.

We were served by a young man who was very polite and knowledgeable about the products made and sold there.

The drinks were very cold, which is always a good thing on a warm day.

We bought pies. These are not just any pies. The pastry, rather than being just a carrier of what would be inside, is actually the best pastry I've had, and truly part of the overall deliciousness! The pastry on the bottom is neither too thick nor too thin, making it perfect to hold the most tasty, succulent, moreish large pieces of chunky beef and flavourful gravy you'll ever enjoy! Topped with a light flaky pastry and larger than a standard pie, this is a true delight.

If you want to eat a pie that is extraordinary, and just like Grandma used to bake, a Central Tilba Bakery pie is a must!!

We travelled over 700 kilometres on holiday to visit the area, and would do it again to feast on the delights from this...

I can't remember the last time I went to a bakery as good as this one. Considered adding an extra 1.5 hours to my return journey just to go past here again.

Got pies, sausage rolls, bread rolls and some little coconut and lime cake things. They were all outstanding. The fillings for the pies and sausage rolls were exceptional. Tried the Thai Green Curry pie, Butter Chicken pie and plain beef pie, all bangers. The meat to gravy ratio on the plain meat pie was the highest I can remember, but not in the way some chunky pies have huge dry bits of meat in them - more like a rich...

Took advice from previous reviews stating they had just experienced the best pie tasting ever from this bakery. I can now atest to the same thinking after sampling quite simply an exquisite pie tasting. The chunky steak was very tender with a thick gravy sauce. The pastry was flaky and one of the best I have tasted on a pie. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere had that old world charm. Bakery is situated in the very lovely town of Central Tilba, well worth a trip...
