My partner and I did the whale shark snorkeling tour yesterday, and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish.
The day began at 7:45 am when we met the friendly team at Coastal Adventure Tour office. They double checked our food preferences or dietary restrictions, fin sizes, and if we preferred a stinger suit or a thicker wetsuit for snorkeling.
Once the group (around 18 people) was ready, we got on the bus for a short drive to the jetty. After a quick round of introductions, we boarded the boat and were welcomed by the captain, who gave us an insightful overview of the day’s plan and some interesting facts about the area we would be exploring.
On the way to our first snorkel spot, the girls gave us our gear and a delicious cake from a local bakery. Then we jumped into the water for our first swim on the reef. The water temperature in June was surprisingly warm, around 25°C.
Later, once the whale sharks were located, we had the incredible opportunity to swim alongside them for 4 times (always from a respectful legal distance). The experience was exceptionally well-organised. The crew made sure everyone felt safe, and got the best possible view of the sharks. The girls on board were professional, very knowledgeable and detail-oriented.
We’re super happy we chose this tour. It’s an experience we’ll never forget. Thank you to the Ningaloo Marine...
Read moreThis tour was absolutely amazing! We saw so much different wildlife; 2x small pods of dolphins, swam over the top of a bunch of reef sharks and a turtle while at a cleaning station, watched a solitary manta ray barrel rolling, all the varieties of fish and best of all, floating in the water as humpbacks swam past (twice!). It was the first humpbacks of the season and you could see how excited the crew were that we all got to see something so amazing. The first drop was an adult quickly followed by a mum and calf 😍 and the second drop was 2 more adults. Hubby was dubious about doing a tour altogether but afterwards, he was completely awestruck. Unfortunately, I did get a bit sea sick but the whole crew were so lovely and making sure I was okay and going out of their way to make sure I got something to snack on when I knew I wouldn't be able to keep down the delicious smelling burgers. They even offered to do a drop with just me, to take me out to the rest of the group when I had initially declined once we found the manta ray. I'm so glad I took them up on it because it was a once in a lifetime experience. Most (if not all) of the crew are marine biologists, so they love to share their passion and knowledge with others and you can really tell they love what they do. A portion of your ticket also goes towards the research done on the reef, which is...
Read moreWe recently went on the Whale Shark Share Tour with Ningaloo Marine Interactions and it was absolutely fantastic! The entire experience was incredibly well-organized and unforgettable.
The crew was super friendly and professional—special thanks to Bec and Ayla, who took amazing care of us when we got a bit seasick. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference.
We were lucky enough to swim with a whale shark, a truly magical experience! While snorkeling, we also spotted a reef shark and some beautiful sea turtles. From the boat, we saw many dolphins and even a Bryde’s whale—such an incredible sight!
The boat itself was very clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and Fraser kept us all entertained with the best jokes. Brit took care of the photography and was always on point, capturing every special moment. Even though we haven’t seen the photos yet (we just went yesterday), we’re sure they’ll be stunning—it was so relaxing to enjoy the moment without worrying about taking pictures ourselves.
Overall, this tour was everything we hoped for and more. 5 out of 5 stars without a doubt. Highly recommend to anyone...
