Nice little island so close to Brisbane yet with an unmistakable "tropical resort island" feel. It seems quite big but we walked all the way around it easily in under an hour. There's a nice cafe not far from where the ferry lands so you can just hop over without packing food if you want. Both the ferry and the cafe offered very friendly service. Important : The ferry service is from another decade - it only accepts cash so make sure you have some! We didn't the first time we tried to go there - I never carry cash - so we were left unable to go over. The cafe does accept cards but they have a cute sign asking people to wait away from the counter so their bodies don't interfere with the weak mobile signal to the EFTPOS machine. :-) I didn't have any mobile reception issues while over there. Love this island. It's one of the easiest islands to get to and worth coming for a day trip. Simply catch the ferry or barge (8 min trip) from Victoria Point jetty. On this visit we caught a barge there & ferry back. You can pay on board. They take cash or bank card. Note: Go Cards are not accepted. The 50c one way fare currently applies. If you want to bring your car (which imo isn't needed) I recommend booking by calling directly or jumping on their website to avoid disappointment. There's a dedicated dog friendly beach on one side. Btw dogs are allowed on the ferry and barge too. You can chill out on the beach or go for a bush walk. There's a cafe and bar on the island as well and a children's playground. Lots of tables, chairs and toilets are available. I recommend bringing water, a hat, snacks and anything else you think you'll need for...

My favourite island ever! Under a short 10min ferry from Victoria Point, coochiemudlo island is surround by a gorgeous beach, the water is so blue! Incredible place for a nice sunny day bbq, there are art halls including a bunch of amazing creative art markets on Sundays by the local cafe. As you jump off the ferry there are cafes/bars, great family grass area with bbqs also. This place has a great sense of community, keeps you coming back!

Also added some photos from when I attended their flinders day event which they had great creative...
