Cabin was lovely, and clean..location is great, on a sunny day ( I bet )
Couple of things that were disappointing though. No dishwashing liquid in the cupboard to wash pots, pans, or oven trays No salt & Pepper shakers No face cloths 1 roll of toilet paper (room sleeps 6) Spa and pool closes at 6pm, check in is strictly no earlier than 2pm, so we were sent away at 1pm when we had driven all the way there, to have to return for the key, even though the cabin had been cleaned and was ready, which was abit disappointing.. Jumping pillow deflates at 6pm also.. not much time to unpack, get yourself set, and utilise much of the facilities for the price we paid $235 for the night We asked for a late check out, and were going to be charged $75 for an extra hour, which is really sad, given the fact ALL accommodation we have ever stayed at, has been extremely accomodating with this simple request, and the room was vacant the next day, as we were offered an extra nights stay (for a fee) so asking for 11am check out should really have been drama free..
Felt quite stressed with so many restrictions, rules and time frames the entire time.. I got an SMS at 8am to remind me that we strictly need to get out by 10am.(which we were well aware of). Pool and spa doesn't open until 8am..so we had to set our alarm just to be able to use it for 30mins, as it was closed when we tried to go relax after dinner (and it was Fathers Day) We also seen the owners using the spa facilities during the hours that it should be available for paying patrons only.. Lovely pool area, however, it's the first time that we have been somewhere that had the pool and spa close so early... everywhere has always been between 8- 9pm which we think is very reasonable.. the weather was very cold and windy, so the only thing that would have been great to use, was the pool area.
Both TV's in the room could not support the wifi to watch any Netflix or stan, after several failed calls to the after hours to ask for this to be rectified, the guy who came, was None the wiser of how to do it. Unplugged TV, and managed to reconnect to the wifi, to be disconnected again, it still did not support the built in apps to watch any movies.. and shortly found out it's only a small amount of gbs per day per cabin?? which you would be lucky to watch any movies with, and didn't get to watch any movies or sports games..
We were also told the Cafe across the road is lovely for breakfast, only to find out, it's closed on a Monday, and most places are in Lancelin..
Carpark for cabin is quite a distance when having to pack and unpack.. Abit deflated to be honest..
Again, cabin and pool area is flawless, comfort wise, apart from what I mentioned
A real shame, because the negative things have outweighed the positive for this place..
Also waiting on my $250 bond, which I was told gets refunded to the bank straight away, I have now been told after calling.. it takes...
Β Β Β Read moreMy review is based on a couple with a MH. We arrived late Sunday afternoon for 1 night and reception was friendly. We chose a large beach side powered site which is a few dollars more but less busy than the main area - note the following *you canβt see the sea from the beach side sites if this is what youβre expecting as there are dunes in the way and there is a row of small size camp sites opposite. on our night these were vacant so it felt quite spacious. I would choose the beach side sites again. *beach access from the beach sites is a stroll between sand dunes and we walked to the jetty and back without needing to go through the front gate. A great beach walk on the sand and if you come back along the path youβll come across the Hole in the Van coffee shack, looks like a great little place. *the shower block at the beach side has no hot water, or at least it had run out by Sunday evening. this was a pain because we werenβt warned and my other half was looking forward to a hot shower with a bit more space than in our MH. On a cold blustery evening he was not happy. *the shower stalls don't have a bench and hooks were missing in some stalls. so improvise on keeping your stuff dry. *the shower block and toilets were very clean *we couldnβt access the camp kitchen because it was locked. it didnβt affect us but keep it in mind when checking in to ask for camp kitchen arrangements. *there is a handy coffee van on site next to Reception - open 6am - 10am but double check the times. *Park location is great, easy walk to the main strip. there is a well stocked IGA, the bakery near the IGA is perfunctory at best but the bread is fresh. Go to Wendys near the Post Office for good coffee and pastries, it was buzzing on the Monday morning we left. *the community resource centre near the Post office is a gem, great used-book library and exchange, internet facilities, visitor information and some local produce. check opening hours because it may be closed weekends?? We stopped in there on Monday before...
