Bombaay Spicery — Local services in Melbourne

Visited them a few times with no problems but, since we went to them to complain about fungal growth in sabrini’s paneer samosa ( complained on the same day as we bought it), the lady at the desk was super rude.. opened up 5 boxes with the hope of exchanging for another product. Unfortunately all of them had same fungal issue, Instead of apologising she rather says that its not her problem while she is the one actually selling it after obtaining from supplier. Anyway, its not worth contributing to rude business owners who will bully consumers and force them to buy a minimum 10$ or pay extra fee for EFTPOS if buying less than 10$.

Replying to your again unethical behaviour: when you mention that was supplier’s issue..let me clarify a common sense thought that for a consumer who is paying you and obtaining a product from you… is going to report any issues to you and is unable to reach the supplier.. so by common sense, you are expected to atleast apologise for the inconvenience instead of arguing with the consumer..

Unfortunately, inspite of the awful behaviour by you guys, we still behaved very well..

Disappointed with the experience in this store.

a) A lot of times I dont find what I'm looking for. Some very basic Indian items used in indian cooking are at times not available in the store. b) Unfortunately items bought by us multiple times from here are either expired or have a couple of days left for the expiry date. For instance the item that I bought recently only had 3 days to go up until the "best before date". c) This isn't the first time I'm buying an item close to expiry. Even in cases where I have gone back to the store and asked them to exchange/refund an item they have plainly refused citing their no exchange policy (which is unheard of in Australia to be honest) d) A minimum of $8 for items that need to be bought with a surcharge levied if not paid in cash.

Beautiful Indian store. You can find everything in this store. I visited twice.

My first experience was fabulous. The receptionist girl helped to to find things and had a great customer serving skills. On my second visit, the beautiful lady helped me to find things and helped me to put my stuff in the car as I was holding baby. She also offered a toy to my son as he was bit upset. Such a kind gesture. This is just about interaction with them. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Apart from this, the store is very neat and clean. Well organised and easy to track down things. The price is genuine and is not overpriced at all. definitely going back.
