Dutch Rules Distilling Co. — Local services in Melbourne

We were in Melbourne visiting the kids and they told us about this cool little Gin Distillery in Mitcham they had been too and took us there.

It was Sunday afternoon around 3.30pm, the venue was quiet....well to begin with!

What an amazing place, and a tribute to Danny Perera a local industry legend and his forward thinking.

It is a great space, cool vibes and music.

Our amazing host 'Archie' was fantastic, really friendly and super knowledgeable about the gin and guided us through each one.

To be honest, I wine guy but love to taste flavours in all products.

The gin flight was great, my wife opted for the 4 and they were all really well made and balanced. My favourite, even though I don't drink spirits was the Dutch Rules Thai Gin. You could taste every botanical.

Every gin was delicate and well balanced, the whiskey was also delicious and had a sweet finish.

Danny, this place is amazing and we will always come back when visiting the kids in Melbourne.

Huge shoutout to the Dutch Rules crew for an excellent experience tonight.

It's hard to believe that a distiller making world class beverages is tucked away off of a main street there in Mitcham.

The gins are expertly crafted and all provide a unique twist that pairs perfectly with the in-house cocktails on offer (get the clarified tea punch before it's gone).

Archie went above and beyond in his service tonight with his expertise in the craft, answering all of my dumb questions and going out of his way to give all patrons a drink best suited to what they were after.

Watch this space as they have a kitchen opening up hopefully in the next month or so.

Wow. A local beauty. I had absolutely no idea this was in Mitcham until I drove past and I’m so glad we stopped in. What a gorgeous gin bar!! The bartender was so knowledgeable and SO friendly!! The gins speaks for themselves, thai gin is a must try along with the coffee liqueur. Stunning drinks made with the greatest gin and all gin made in house! Everyone need to check this out as I feel not everyone knows about this local gem. An absolute must try and I’m so glad I get to come back and back again! No kitchen as yet (they said 2-3 months time) but you are able to bring in your own food, which is such a plus! Thank you Dutch Rules, for bringing Mitcham the best gin...
