It's a Friday afternoon the end of another working week and in the spirit of the classic VB Ad we had a 'hard earned thirst' What a better way to to finish the week ,with a tasty craft beer from Foragers Drop...so in 'good spirits' we wander up to the bar, which only had 6 people in it,as we were about to select our beers we were barely acknowledged by a bloke behind the bar I won't say served as we weren't..keeping in mind we thought we were in a 'happy place' this bloke certainly wasn't,he was rude and disrespectful. When we did order a beer he asked one guy''Hey mate can you move out of the way" as he poured our beers which I'm sure was painstaking for him..he abruptly says 'tap' I'm thinking Tap? a sink tap? I figured he meant Tap and Pay...I said ''No cash'' which I handed over $21 he gave me change not a word was spoken.couldn't even say thanks. So we take a seat quickly drank our beers, called our friends that were going to meet us here, then we headed to Track 8 another Craft beer venue with a much better ambience and attitude...Oh by the way the bloke in question was...
Read moreThe little hidden gem, as masked by the tardis, with a whole lotta community spirit and real family vibe. Best bar in the eastern burbs. Sunday chillax with local musos is the best. Pool table for the traditional pub vibe, but lots of games for the families and kids. Caters to everyone. Every time I come here there is always a good mix of young and old, locals/ regulars and newcomers. Everyone I know feels welcomed and every a little protective of what the owner and staff have created here. The drop is for everyone, with a enticing variety of quality craft beers on tap (including a hand pump pour of deliciousness), then there is the gin and whisky walls. If you don't find something that fits your tastes and budgets then don't think you will find it anywhere in Melbourne. Sitting right near a train line (and multiple busses routes) is brilliant for leaving the car at home and having an...
Read moreBest place to drink a beer in the eastern suburbs. Large selection of tasty craft beers. These beers are exclusive and hard to find elsewhere. I'm extremely impressed with the diverse range of dark and light styles and rich flabours. Prices are fair and resonable, and even excellent when compared to other bars. The most family friendly pub I have ever been to. Board games avaliable for all to play. Free drinks to kids. Outdoor area for some fresh air. The staff are very down to earth and will talk you through all different beers. Order food from any venu and the staff are happy for you to eat inside the pub! And there are lots of amazing places close by that will deliver to your table. Its a fun experience to call for a take away dinner to a pub and have it delivered to your table. I am verry impressed. I think this will be...
