I recently played a round of golf at Ivanhoe Public Golf Club, and while I enjoyed the experience, I have mixed feelings about the course. The condition of the course left something to be desired, with several areas in need of maintenance and repair. However, the greens were well-kept and made for a challenging game.
Despite the course's condition, I was impressed by the customer service provided by the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. They offered excellent recommendations and ensured that I had everything I needed for an enjoyable game.
One aspect that stood out was the ample parking space available. I didn't have to worry about finding a spot or circling around the lot, which made for a stress-free start to my game.
Overall, while the course condition was not the best, the good customer service and plentiful parking space made up for it. I would recommend Ivanhoe Public Golf Club to anyone looking for a relaxed game of golf with a...
Read moreFirst time visitor on a sinking hot November day. In fact too hot (we couldn't finish our round)!
What a lovely smaller course!
A number of elevated tees and greens. Well maintained - fairways and greens in beautiful condition. Nicely treed. Reasonable amount of shade near most tees.
Speed of play was a bit of an issue. Group ahead of us were slow and it affected everyone banked up behind. It might help if there was some marshalling happening on course to keep things moving. On a hot day, there was too much standing around waiting to make a clear shot.
Shop staff very obliging. Nice!
Carpark was absolutely chockers. But you can park in nearby streets.
Happy to add this to our repertoire - although we'll need to be mindful that we choose...

In pretty good condition most of the year, but has experienced pretty bad flooding during the last couple of winter seasons. Play can be frustratingly slow during peak times. Would be good if there was a marshall driving around asking groups to speed up as there are many amateurs playing who don't quite understand golf etiquette. Also, grouping 1s and 2s would be good rather than having 3 singles playing in a row. Staff are friendly and club house isn't amazing but the beer is...
