My wife and I recently visited this fish & chip shop for the first time, attracted by the rave reviews we had heard about their quality food. While we were impressed with the deliciousness of their fish and chips, we found ourselves a bit let down by the customer service aspect of our experience.

As first-time customers, we had a few questions about the menu. However, the staff seemed rather short and slightly intimidating when we approached them with our queries. This made my wife feel uncomfortable and awkward, which was a shame because we had come in with high hopes of this shop.

Despite the less-than-welcoming atmosphere, I took it upon myself to place the order. The menu options were extensive, offering a variety of fish choices and a range of sides. We opted for the classic Barramundi and chips, kebab & some sides, which all turned out delicious . The fish was perfectly cooked, with a crisp and golden batter, while the chips were piping hot and well-seasoned. It was evident that the quality of the food was indeed top-notch.

Although the customer service left much to be desired, we couldn't deny the fact that the food itself was excellent. The flavors were fantastic, and it was clear that they used fresh ingredients in their preparations. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us feeling satisfied and content.

Despite the slight setback with the customer service, we would be willing to give this place another chance solely because of the outstanding food they serve. However, we hope that they can work on improving their approachability and friendliness towards customers, particularly newcomers like us. Our entry into the gang's turf was greeted with the enthusiasm of a sloth on a Monday morning. Our friendly neighborhood ninja cashier stealthily slipped away, leaving us feeling like we stumbled into a secret society of anti-social aficionados.

Now, attempting to secure napkins turned into a high-stakes mission. I reached for what seemed like harmless counter paper, only to trigger the overly protective instincts of an undercover potato cake guardian! 🥔🕵️‍♂️

I can't rate the food as I never received my order. I was told it would be a 20 minute wait, yet after 35 minutes when followed up I was told it was just going on now. I noted people ordering well after me (over 15 minutes) and they were getting their order before mine was even started.

I requested a refund and meanwhile the owner refused to turn around and left it to a young girl to answer my question and this young girl was so rude. There was never any attempt to apologise for the wait. They tried to blame short staff despite me pointing out about other orders being prioritised. Then she tried to blame my order being slower as it had chips. Noted again there were other orders prioritised that also had chips. But I have never heard of this being an issue before.

Very disappointing and after having just moved to the area we won't be coming back and will find somewhere else. We get fish and chips every Friday so we would have been regulars but not an option anymore. Keen to see if the owner bothers to respond to this review?!
