Nem N' Nem's Fried Chicken Bao had me dreaming of street food bliss, but the reality landed a little short of the mark. Let's start with the good: the bao itself was a fluffy wonderland. Pillowy soft and expertly steamed, it cradled the filling like a cloud embracing a sunset. And the chips? Crispy and salted to perfection.
But then came the main event – the fried chicken bao. While cooked to a juicy golden crisp, the flavour left me wanting more, felt it was a little bland.
So, Nem N' Nem, you had me at "fried chicken bao," but left me longing for some punch in the filling. The foundation is there: incredible bao bun and stellar chips but lacked the flavour punch.

Read moreI went to the food trucks last night in Thornbury and was really looking forward to having some Vietnamese food. I've had Nem N Nem before and the food was delicious. Well was very disappointing this time. I had the main at $20 : 2 chicken skewers, 3 tiny spring rolls and 2 rice paper rolls. I think what really got me was that the rice paper tolls was full of noodles(because it's cheap) And there were 3 SPECS of pork meat!!!! Seriously there was hardly any meat to be seen. 😡Wish I'd taken photos of it. Very poor indeed. Definitely not value for money. I suggest buying their sliders if you're desperate for some Vietnamese food you can actually see how much meat is there. Well you hope...
Read moreFood looked amazing but the service left a lot to be desired. We were at an event so the food was paid for already. There was maybe a line of about 10 customers eagerly waiting to try out the food, it moved slowly but everyone was patient as it was free. After about 25 minutes, a customer at the front of the line was told there was no food left. It was incredibly disappointing as they would have and should have realised they were going to be out of food much earlier... it would have been courteous to let all the customers know before letting everyone...
