Having originally booked a powered site with en suite we decided to upgrade to a cabin for the night. We expected to use the time to reorganise, clean the van which we had been using for 4000 km and get rest without setting up and breaking camp. ||Entering the grounds close to the town of Red Cliffs it’s clear the property landscaping is well maintained. The en-suites were small and awkward placed at the back of the side rather than off to the side so we were happy to have chosen the cabin for the night. ||Alas, the cabin had a few things we feel need to be pointed out. First, the fit out of the cabin is very dated and very used and much in need of renovation. In the bedrooms there were no convenient electrical outlets near the bed, end table or lamps. So if you need items beside the bed or need to use a CPAP ma home you are out of luck. ||There are no space heaters in the bathroom or bedroom. The reverse cycle a/c unit worked but the fan was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think and not conducive to sleep - so it was a cold night. ||Although not uncommon the appliances were cheap and old but functional. Happily it was a one night stand. The owners, when told of issues just said waved bye and said...
Read more3 stars for the lovely cabin and the kind lady I booked with over the phone she was polite as could be and went out of her way, knowing that I would be traveling alone.
The grounds were lovely, cabin was mostly immaculate, a power point wasnt working, but that was the only thing I could fault.
I left Adelaide at 5am to head to Red Cliffs. Had our event during the day. Weary eyed at 5pm headed to check in to my previously booked accommodation walking through the door, to a barrage of grumpyness. The man at the counter judging me even before speaking to me. Could not even say hello...simply demanding to know HOW DID YOU GET A CABIN WITHOUT OWNING A DOG TRAILER.
I wont go into the ridiculous conversation I had to have with this man. He only backed down when I offered to show him my vehicle set up and politely told him I was more than happy to leave him with an empty cabin for the 2 nights I had booked.
Disappointing to be tarred with the same brush as others, especially when I went out of my way to do the right thing at the time of booking. You might like to talk to your long term tradies about the hours they are keeping at night, drinking,...
