My recent visit to the House of Wow, touted as a "family place," was nothing short of a colossal disappointment. I went in with high hopes, expecting a fun and welcoming environment suitable for families. Instead, what I encountered was a perplexing array of rigid arcade rules that completely undermined the supposed family-friendly atmosphere.
First and foremost, the staff was remarkably unhelpful and unfriendly. One would expect a family-oriented venue to have warm, approachable employees ready to assist, especially when dealing with children. However, the staff at the House of Wow seemed more concerned with enforcing a convoluted set of arcade rules than ensuring visitors had a pleasant experience. Their curt and dismissive attitude was evident from the moment we walked in, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests.
The arcade rules themselves are utterly ridiculous and overly strict. For instance, there are absurd restrictions climbing even though i come here every friday.. This not only caused unnecessary frustration but also led to several meltdowns among younger visitors who were looking forward to playing their favorite games. It's baffling why the management thinks these draconian rules are appropriate for a place marketed towards families.
Additionally, the layout of the arcade is chaotic and poorly designed. Machines are crammed together with little regard for space, making it difficult to navigate, especially with young children in tow. The noise level is unbearable, with loud, overlapping sounds from various games creating an overwhelming cacophony. This is hardly the ideal environment for a family outing.
Furthermore, the cleanliness of the facility leaves much to be desired. Sticky floors, grimy machines, and overflowing trash bins were the norm rather than the exception. It's clear that hygiene and maintenance are not priorities here, which is particularly concerning in a place frequented by children.
Lastly, the pricing is exorbitant for the quality of experience provided. The token system is outdated and confusing, and many of the machines are either broken or malfunctioning, leading to wasted tokens and disappointed kids. The few games that do work are hardly worth the steep prices charged.
In conclusion, the House of Wow is anything but a "wow." It's a poorly managed, overpriced, and unwelcoming establishment that fails to deliver on its promise of being a family-friendly destination. Save your money and take your family somewhere that truly values its customers and understands what it means to be a family-oriented venue. Avoid the House of Wow...
Read moreI had my daughter's birthday here, spent $589 for a very unorganised, under staffed and dirty venue. The children enjoyed themselves but it was a real let down. I tried contacting and emailing the venue multiple times after I booked online. No one got back to me until 3 days before the party. I had been calling everyday with no luck. The young lady on the phone was lovely though. On the day of the birthday, there is no host to take the children from one activity to the next. They only provide 2 small pizzas and a large fries for a party of 8 kids and 2 jugs of drink. The dirty plates and cups were left on tables for hours after the children had finished. The bowling allies were dirty- left over dirty plates, tissues, cups from the party before. The lane kept malfunctioning the children became frustrated. The staff have no idea what's included in the package- when it came time for the arcade games the young girl said I had to load money on all the cards for the kids to play. After much confusion another staff member was asked and explained that they could only play specific arcade games which was fine. The staff were young and lovely however there wasn't enough of them to cater for the parties which was a real let down. The young girl gave us some free entry for bowling tickets which was really nice of her. Overall it was an underwhelming experience for the...
Read moreThere is lots of fun activities for all ages to enjoy, however (and understandably due to bad weather) monkey mania was very over crowded. The staff were friendly. We were instructed to remove our baby from the under 5s area for not having socks on him yet children well and truly over 5 were allowed jump around and remain in the under 5s area. We waited roughly 40minutes for two kids meals and burgers watching people order and receive the same items we ordered with in 15minutes of them walking into the place. Staff apologised however we were given three burger meals that were cold while the childrens meals were very very hot. Tables also very sticky and I couldnât find appropriate space to breast feed my baby, let alone seating in monkey mania. We lasted maybe 15-20 mins in monkey mania and decided to try an alternative indoor...
