Yamba River Markets — Local services in Yamba

We went over to yamba on the ferry from Iluka on an idyllic beautiful winter's day - enjoyed the variety of beautiful items at stalls and had a delightful bakery lunch, did the local shops and were back in iluka for happy hour. We did however note that the day were long waiting for the return ferry - 5 hours is a bit much on your feets on a day off.... Not a huge amount of local stuffs at market - actually, a great deal were imported .... and so very many of yamba shops were closed... they could do with bringing a few portaloos in for the day as the wait for the two public toilets could be long at times.... Lastly - the friendly market stall operators that engaged in conversation and actively sold were doing well- the ones that sit in the corner looking bored were dead quiet. What a wonderful little market. Plenty on offer, live music. Very well priced meals. Extra mention to the older gentleman who sells shells. Made my 4yo one very happy little lady when you have her as a gift of an additional shell. She really was excited by it. Your pieces are amazing and your prices are still very honest and cheap. Checked the market website and it told us the markets were open, upon arrival there was nothing there. Checking with the organisers found out it was the four Sunday of the month. Maybe this should be stipulated on the website so non-locals and visitors know...
