Iām not someone who holds grudges. But one time during Covid I went to this drakes. At that time most places would supply masks to their customers. It wasnāt a law but you would expect pro-mask franchises to help. On that day I was 1 hour from home on an isolated holiday trip. I forgot to bring a mask with me. While shopping in this drakes a man approached me and started screaming at me for not wearing a mask (A meter from me). He then told me he was the owner of the store and if I wasnāt going to wear a mask Iāll have he was going to kick me out. I told him Iāll buy a mask, but the problem was they were not selling individual masks. They were only selling a 50 pack for $20. Being that Iām a student I havenāt got money to spare towards unnecessary items, especially during an already costly holiday. Even though I was coroperative this man did not want to listen too reason or offer me an individual mask. He clearly stated that if I wanted to shop at his building I need to buy the whole pack. So essentially heās making me pay a $20 entry fee too a drakes. I then left this morons building and never looked back. As previously stated I am not a man who holds grudges. I have gone back to this drakes at least once a month since then. Luckily for him I havenāt ran into this power junkie. But I have had a great time at the drakes. The checkout girl the other day asked how I was doing twice. Lovely place. Itās currently 3 years later and Iām over the whole ordeal and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn reply to Roger Dawson, you were within your rights to complain to Drakes if your purchase was legitimately faulty. They, by law are obliged to replace or refund you for that purchase, your contract as the purchaser is with the retailer. It is up to the retailer to take it up with their supplier and make a claim against the supplier with whom their contract lies. I had a similar situation occur with Drakes Aldinga a couple of years ago but I do know my legal rights and to be fair to Drakes they did replace the product after a little discussion. I do feel though that there may be some education needed to be given to the "supervisory/management" people in this area, if only to avoid unpleasant experiences...
