Sankt Pölten Cathedral is the primary church or the chair of the bishop of the diocese of Sankt Pölten. The church is located in the heart of the city off Sankt Pölten. The cathedral is really mesmerizing with its beautiful structure. I was awe struck with wonder at the beauty of its architecture. The lights, the altar, the choir, the ambience simply lifted me off my feet. The Cathedral also has many beautiful paintings which can even be priceless. There is also a beautiful garden within the presbytery. There is enough parking space and one can find enough restaurants in the vicinity, and makes it easy for the tourists. This church is filled with the beauty of art and the serenity of the spiritual world. Those visiting Vienna can also find this place very enriching, even though it takes one hour to travel there...

Кафедральный собор Вознесения Девы Марии (Dom Mariä Himmelfahrt) был возведен в 1150 г. на месте бывшей церкви монастыря св. Ипполита. Интерьер собора украшают фрески и картины великих мастеров эпохи барокко – Даниэля Грана, Антонио Тасси, Бартоломео Альмонте и др. Пожары XIII и XVI веков многое уничтожили - пришлось восстанавливать собор уже в готическом стиле. В XVIII веке была проведена очередная реконструкция и интерьер изменили на барочный. Мы не торопились и провёли здесь минут 10 в созерцании окружающей красоты. Смогли заметить немало интересного. И всё это под звуки органа. Там играл органист на современном электронном органе. Но это при наличии огромного и красивого Настоящего А вот Домская площадь (Domplatz) категорические не понравилась - обычная стоянка для машин перед собором . Правда, одно красивое здание напротив собора ее украсило и тумбы с цветами Еще там в одном месте ведутся какие-то археологические раскопки - считается, что здесь располагался центр древнеримского поселения Элиум Центиум. А по пути была площадь Место Господа или Господская площадь (Herrenplatz), где установлен Марианский столб или колонна Марии (Mariensäule). Эта понравилась. Simplemente wow! No es muy grande la catedral pero por dentro es una joya. El interior es realmente hermoso. Casi todas sus paredes son de mármol. Los frescos del techo no están muy cargados de figuras. Los cuadros ubicados arriba de cada arco son representativos de la historia de Jesús y con el sol de tarde entrando por las ventanas resaltan más. El color dorado es el que manda. El altar principal tiene una pintura en lugar de una escultura. El templete de oratoria es espectacular. La parte del órgano es igualmente bien trabajado. Su exterior es muy simple, nada que ver con su interior, aunque la puerta de entrada es bonita ¿Es opulenta está catedral por dentro?
