Stadtmuseum St. Pölten — Attraction in St. Pölten

Since the reopening of the Stadtmuseum on November 17, 2007, the house has become one of the cultural attractions in the beautiful old town of St. Pölten. As part of the renovations, the entrance to the entrance, both inside and outside, was completely redesigned. By stems in steel-glass construction, the museum received a modern, sculptural character, which refers to the function of the building. The foyer, café and ticket counter were designed according to the designs of the designers Doris Zichtl and Marcello Hrasko. They continue what already emerged in the design of the Art Nouveau department in 2004 as a new signature of the Stadtmuseum. In the inner courtyard of the museum, a glass-steel lift was also located, which blends perfectly into the historic building structure of the Karmeliterhof. The City Museum St. Pölten is thus completely accessible to visit. The baroque courtyard of the museum has also been redesigned. It came to a deconstruction of the planting, the character of the court as a "baroque garden" could be reinforced again. The aim is to increase the use of the court for various events, including concerts or readings.

But not only the museum building and its infrastructural facilities were massively upgraded, also in terms of content, the museum has been renewed. With the new archaeological department, the rich collection of prehistoric and prehistoric objects as well as the exhibits from the "Roman" St. Pölten, a further showpiece of the house can be visited in addition to the Art Nouveau department.

STADTMUSEUM St. Pölten Unweit des Stadtzentrums von St. Pölten befindet sich in einem alten Gebäude das Stadtmuseum St. Pölten. Sehr schön präsentiert, mit Geschick ausgewählt, eine große Vielfalt, interessant beschrieben und mit hohem Wohlfühlcharakter ausgestaltet liegt das Museum im Herzen der Stadt. Man ist gerne bereit sich in den alten Gängen und Räumen mit schönen Blick nach draußen zu verlieren. Weitere Besuche folgen sicher! Man tritt ein und fühlt sich zu Hause. Ein wunderbares altes Gebäude, das selbst schon zum Museum geworden ist. Überraschend groß die Geschichtspalette, von Frühgeschichte über Römer, Kelten, Mittelalter, Stadtgeschichte und eine herrliche Jugendstilsammlung ...nicht zu vergessen die moderne Abteilung und vor allem ganz unter dem Dach eine ausgezeichnete zeitgenössische Ausstellung, modern aber gut und bodenständig, wenn auch im Haus nicht ganz leicht zu entdecken. Beautiful building, nice exposition. The art expo is also nice. The expo of the town history is interesting, but I would have appreciated it more if there had been more infos about the whole history of the town...
