It is one thing to evaluate an academy made up of people (rating 4,5), and an assessment of infrastructure is completely different (rating 2-3). I spent 6 weeks training here, an average of 5 times a week. Most of people were friendly, the other were neutralI. Everyone I met, was focused on friendly healthy competition whitout intentional hurting. Most of teachers did not speak english, but even with lack of comunnication, eachone controled how I learn theirs techniques. Big THX to Salma, girl works on reception - very friendly, speak english and helps a lot! But the infrastructure... The Academy from the street is not marked in any way, no opening hours, nothing. One semi size hall with a training mat and reception. There are no fans, so the air inside is stagnant and not exchanged - many times when entering the academy in the afternoon, it was very hot, no air to breathe and the smell of sweat (and not only that) almost 'kills'. There are always open windows, but it's not enough. They really should put fans in. The more that women are required to wear a rashguard under the kimono (which made me feel even hotter), while men do not have to. The mat is very hard. I'm skipping the abrasions on the skin, because you have to be strong. However, after 2 weeks I started to feel pain in my knees, and after 3 weeks my back was sore from strong throws from the stand-up position. I had to visit a physiotherapist. There is a small changing room with a shower for men, but for women only a small toilet with no shower. Each time when had very intense train and got swet, had come back home in my wet Gi. This toilet is often pledged with several bicycles and it was very difficult to get to! One time a guy broke a light bulb in the ladies room and the Egyptian darkness set in for another week or two. The cleanliness of the club leaves a bit to be desired. Though it is possible that in Cicero's absence, this was not taken care of properly. Theoretically, there are some rules at the academy, but in the absence of coach Cicero, they are not respected, e.g. man should change only in the dressing room, and then they do it on the mat anyway.
