TRAPPED Escape Room - Ajax — Local services in Ajax

UPDATE: Management is reponsive only when reminded days later to do so. We were offered a discount to return which we will not be using. Management should really take a moment to communicate and understand rather than making assumptions about people's experiences. It is assumed that we didnt discuss with front end staff what the waiver contained. We did. Although nobody brought a lawyer and and extra 20 mins to read through the entire document, we were told that it pertained to expected behaviour while in the room. We also discussed the childrens ages and lack of experience with escape rooms and even mentioned that the room was chosen for its PG rating. Not once did anyone say that this was their most challenging room/extremely difficult to escape or really more suited to smaller groups as the room is also tiny. All of this was relayed once we failed to escape the room. It is not my job to grill staff about the suitability of your rooms. Its negligent on your part to not provide the necessary information to make an informed decision. I stand by my original review. This place may be fine for adult visitors but it is NOT family friendly and management would rather point fingers than have an actual conversation. Disappointed in Trapped. Find a better escape room. There are lots out there.

Original review: We had a terrible experience at this escape room. Our group of five, including three kids under 12, found the puzzles far too difficult, especially since none of us had ever done an escape room before. There was no indication on the website about the skill level required, and no one warned us that it wouldn't be suitable for beginners or young children. The experience was frustrating rather than fun, and we left feeling disappointed and quite frankly, robbed. Definitely not a place we’d recommend...

We can’t say enough AMAZING things about this place. If we could give 5+ stars we would. Our group today was 3 adults and 2 kids. We did “Room 057”.

Venue: Brand new, absolutely spotless. Easy to find and lots of parking. Right off the highway too.

Staff: Probably the best staff I’ve ever had at an escape room business. My daughter (6yo) was a bit scared of the room and didn’t want to play. The staff were so amazing at making her feel comfortable (they turned the lights on in the room and turned off the music). Super impressed with their professionalism and kindness.

Game: all technology puzzles (no lock and key), super immersive, puzzles fit the story, just all around fun! Loved this room and highly recommend it!! My 6yo and 8yo did find the room a tad bit scary. So even though kids can play, it could be scary for some younger kids and the skill level would require some adult assistance. There are lots of puzzles that are perfect for kids to do on their own as well. This room is perfect for all ages.

I had an amazing time at Ajax Trapped Escape Room! From the moment we arrived, the staff Eliza, Jaden, Sam were welcoming, friendly, and clearly passionate about creating a fun and immersive experience. The room we played was well-designed with clever puzzles, great attention to detail, and just the right level of challenge to keep us engaged without feeling frustrated.

The atmosphere was exciting, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the storyline and props. Our group had a blast working together, and the adrenaline rush of solving the final puzzle just in time was unbeatable!
