I decided I would be the one to buy my husband roses for Valentines Day as I was in Sobeys on February 13 and the roses looked beautiful. I had already picked up one item in the produce section and asked if I could pay for it at the florist counter. The sighing and eye rolling from the three women behind the counter made it obvious that I was asking for something very unreasonable. I said that if it was a problem I would pay for the roses and then take my other item to the check out, but by this time they were ignoring me. One got on the phone and confirmed that I could pay for produce items at the florist counter. My items were then rung through with no dialogue and no eye contact. In the meantime a young man came up to ask a question and the response was nasty. "Really! Do you know how busy we are going to be tomorrow! He slunk away. The next day I was telling my boss how awful the experience had been and she said she had gone in the pick up two bouquets that she had ordered and had had an equally...
Read moreClean, well organized and good selection of produce and general groceries for a smaller town grocery store. Wine and beer selection offers a decent variety. Customer service isn’t consistent. I’ve been ignored at the meat counter, deli and seafood counter employees multiple times. When I can’t find something that I’m looking for, the the younger staff are friendly helpful. The older woman with the curly hair who was working on July 29 around 5:30 needs to learn how to say “excuse me”, being passive aggressive and telling other customers you can’t check them out because I’m in your way is really unprofessional. My 3 year old who was with me has better manners. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with older cashiers interacting unprofessionally with me. Regardless, I’m there to buy food when I don’t have time to drive into Windsor, not for...
Read moreSobeys is a nice place to shop, but I just purchased chicken and dried out wedges, from their Deli, and my suggestion is don't ever do this. My stomach feels gross. There was more soggy breading beneath the crisp illusion than chicken. The potatoes were room temp and out all day I imagine. So dry. If it weren't for my having hand surgery I would have tossed it instead of attempting to eat it. My plate is full of soggy dough chunks. I peeled the thick breading off my scant chicken, and left my potatoes uneaten. My leftovers, still in the boxes on the counter, are going straight into the garbage. No regrets. It's trash. What happened to the Deli? A few years ago this wasn't my experience. It use to be good...... Never again. I paid for this when I should have been paid to...
