Absolutely unacceptable and deceitful experience at Save-On-Foods. This was by far the worst grocery shopping experience I’ve had in Canada. I picked up cucumbers clearly marked at $1.99 each, yet I was charged the zucchini price of $8.99/kg, resulting in a $12 total instead of $4. As if that wasn’t enough, grapes advertised at $3.99/lb were rung up at $8.99.
I was in a rush and didn’t check my receipt until I got home, but this kind of blatant overcharging is nothing short of a rip-off. It’s appalling that a store of this size and reputation allows such incompetence or manipulation to occur at the checkout. I live in a different part of Vancouver, so going back for a refund isn’t practical — and frankly, I shouldn’t have to.
This experience was not just frustrating, it was deceitful and repulsive. It shows a serious lack of employee training and quality control. I will never shop at this location again — or any Save-On-Foods — and I strongly urge others to double-check their receipts and be cautious. Another big bargain, look for $9.90 for a turkey for Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas.
However , Fishes are not looking fresh and Truly very very expensive...very limited choice
In comparison..if I spend $100 grocery here... In 88 market, I only had to pay $75....Absolutely For same stuff
Soo to shop here.you have to Know your grocery prices well. They sell you some cheap bargains..yet made a lot of money on meats, and other items..
Never send your husband to shop here alone unless he is expert on prices!!
Competition is high within 2 km radius... There is price smart store/real Canadian...
Read moreI'm really not sure where the friendly staff are that have been mentioned in previous reviews. I live extremely close to this grocery store so I usually end up going here for groceries when I don't have time to go somewhere else. Often times the cashiers do not say a word to me, I will walk up and say hello and offer a smile and usually get nothing in return. Often times they are talking over me to another coworker. A few staff in the deli section are abysmal as even if you tell them how many grams of something you would like they tend to give you what they feel like cutting. Then they get upset when you mention they gave you 100 grams more than what you had asked for.
Poor customer service and I'm not sure what they are referring to "going the extra mile" in their slogan. Seems like they are going out of their way to provide sub par customer service.
If you don't have to shop here "go the extra mile" to another...
