Today, August 24th, 2023, at around 2 pm, I went to this clinic for the first time. The receptionist did not even greet us when we walked in. After around 10 minutes standing close to her desk without her uttering a word, I said 'when you have a chance, I'd like to register for a walk-in appointment' . She replied in an extremely rude way for no reason, saying 'don't you see that I am registering other patients'. I don't understand why she was so rude, as I was extremely polite to her. She clearly cannot deal with patients or customers. Horrible service, we felt so humiliated that we left without even having an appointment. I hope AHs takes measures against this horrible receptionist, as she is staining the image of the clinic.
Update October 10/23: It took the clinic almost 2 months to reply to our complaint about the receptionist. Instead of apologizing for her behaviour, a person called Jennifer accused us, without any evidence, of being the ones who were rude to the unprofessional receptionist. This is beyond absurd - who raised the complaint first? Multiple patients were there and saw exactly how receptionist treated us, so please investigate better (not only relying on the opinion of the aggressor) before airing absurds, as complaints should be handled seriously. The response from the clinic was disrespectful, accusing,and lacking any kindness or empathy. On that day, I was the one vulnerable doing unwell, but one day it may be you or your loved ones, and I just hope you come across the same type of people whose behaviour you endorse.

Every time I call at different hours, I end up on hold for over 10 minutes, and it's become really upsetting. All I want is to schedule an appointment with my doctor, but the receptionists are just not responsive, and I unfortunately don’t have all day to wait on lengthy holds. Furthermore, I've diligently recorded the times of my calls in a log, just as a reference in case the clinic needs to get in touch with me. I must say that the doctor at this clinic is excellent, but unfortunately, the responsiveness of the receptionists has been a frustrating hurdle in accessing the care I need. Read morePerhaps it's because I'm not Canadian, but I expect more from my doctor. This guy didn't even bother to learn my name for the appointment and made me come into his office just to refill my prescription, presumably because he can bill the government for the in-person visit. Even then it took them over a week to fax in my refill authorization to the pharmacy, which was gracious to give me an emergency bridge refill until this office bothered to send in the needed forms - this happened TWICE! He went out of his way to offer in-office plastic surgery (again presumably because he can charge extra for it) but was reluctant to give me useful medical advice. Dr. Franka's a charasmatic person but in my opinion he's a mediocre physician and only cares about your health to the extent he can make the most money possible off of you. This blatant bad faith behavior would be totally unacceptable from medical professionals in the U.S. You know you can do better, Dr. Franka....
