We recently visited Watson Farm for the annual pumpkin picking experience. I want to start by saying the market area, pumpkin patch, and overall atmosphere of the farm were excellent—we truly enjoyed selecting our pumpkin. The issue arose when we transitioned from the main market to the playground area. We had always assumed the playground was included with the general farm visit, and upon entering, we started playing with our children. After only about five minutes, a staff member approached my husband and told him we needed to pay for entry. This was the first time we realized there was a separate fee. While we are happy to pay for the attractions, the situation was handled extremely poorly. My husband immediately called me over, and we gathered the children to leave, having only spent about five minutes in the area. As we passed the cashier station on our way out, the same staff member yelled across the area, ensuring we paid the fee, despite the fact that we were already leaving and had barely stayed five minutes. Being yelled at in front of our children when we were already complying and departing was unprofessional and incredibly disappointing.
Clear Signage and Entry Control: The entrance to the playground needs clear, large, unavoidable signage stating the price and payment requirements before families enter the area. Staff Presence: There needs to be a dedicated entry point or a staff member actively checking for wristbands/receipts upon entry, rather than waiting until families are playing to inform them...
Read moreWatson’s Farm is an absolute delight for families and anyone looking to enjoy a refreshing day outdoors. The first thing that stood out was the beautiful, scenic layout of the farm, rows of fresh fruits and vegetables growing across the fields, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The sunflower maze was a real highlight, adding a picturesque touch and offering a great photo opportunity for both kids and adults.
The play area for children is well thought out and adds extra fun to the trip. It’s spacious, safe, and equipped with activities that keep kids engaged while parents can relax and enjoy the surroundings. Another lovely feature is the presence of friendly farm animals including goats, chickens, and more, which kids absolutely loved interacting with. It creates a wholesome farm experience that feels authentic and enjoyable.
The pick-your-own section is fantastic, with a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables to choose from. It’s a great learning opportunity for kids to see where their food comes from while having fun. Everything is well-maintained and organized, making the entire process smooth and stress-free.
Overall, Watson’s Farm is a perfect day out for families and nature lovers. The combination of stunning views, interactive activities, and fresh produce makes it a must-visit during the season. Highly recommended for anyone looking to spend quality time outdoors...
Read moreHeard so many nice things about this farm from friends so decided to go there to do some apple picking. Checked the website a few days before going and it said $3 per lb for apple picking which sounded pretty average as well as good for me since I only wanted to pick a few and didn't mind the price since its supporting local/paying for the experience. Upon arrival there was a sign saying that entry with apple bag(s) was $25 for 1/2 people, $45 for 3/4 and so on. The highest entry there was $90! Pretty mind blowing to me ... We asked the owner when this had changed and why since only a few days before the website said $3 lb. The owner got defensive right away giving all kinds of explanation for his greed and selfishness for charging so much just to pick a few apples and walk around. The best excuse was that people go there to "use the facilities" and end up not buying anything. The best solution to that would be to charge a small entrance fee (like most other farms do), so that there is still a profit if people do not pick/buy anything. Very sad to see the way greed and selfishness worm their way into business owners. Me and several other people/families had to walk away, my self for the ridiculous prices, others for not being able to afford it. Do your research and go to another farm to support local owners who actual care about their customer's experiences rather than...
