Leonidas Chocolates — Local services in Cole Harbour

I go here regularly with a friend bc it's consistently good for the specific items we like. My favorite is the crunchy hazelnut dipped cone (vanilla soft serve) bc it's got the flavor and texture that I love. (Not too sweet, can be messy, but just yum). His is the raspberry sorbet soft serve cone, bc it is tart and bursting with flavor. The pistachio dip had almost no flavor, sadly. The salted caramel is delicious, though. Expect about $12 for two people to get ice cream. Staff always friendly. Atmosphere: small place that ideally just fits a few people, but that's fine. While waiting in line to order, it's a great time to look at the selection of various pre-packaged chocolates (eg bars, eggs, etc) and then a display of individual treats (eg single flavored chocolates, truffles, marzipan pieces, etc). Two small white plastic tables if you want to eat inside, which we prefer to do, if we can get one of the tables. Couple of benches outside are good if you want to eat outside. This was my first time visiting Leonidas and I was so disappointed with the awful service I received. The vanilla ice cream with milk chocolate was great but the three young girls working really ruined the experience. The girl working the cash spoke very quietly and I had a hard time hearing her under the mask, I had to ask her to repeat herself many times and she rolled her eyes at me and wouldn’t speak any louder. Once I was finished ordering my friend stood in front of the cash waiting to have her order taken while the three girls stood and talked and laughed completely ignoring the long line up of people. Another one of the girls came and lifted off the others masks to have them taste a milkshake that she had made and they continued to laugh and ignore their customers. I took 1 bite and it was everywhere! On the table, in my hair, and dripping on my hands. I took it to the clerk at the counter and told her I couldn't eat it because it was too messy. She said, just a minute. I threw it in the garbage went to the washroom to clean up. Neither clerk acknowledged the situation. She could have offered a bowl to put it in or my money back. Poor customer service.

I was contacted by the owner immediately after this post. The situation has been resolved. There was an issue with the machine. This quick and professional response completely changed how I feel about the customer service at Leonidas. The email fully explained that the temperature wasn't correct making the ice cream too soft.
