Mezza Lebanese Kitchen (Cole Harbour) — Restaurant in Cole Harbour

I have to say that I had high hopes for this place but I'm very disappointed. The first time I went was shortly after they opened. I asked for a fatush salad with my meal but when I got home I was disappointed to find that I ended up with a house salad instead, which I did not enjoy. I also saw on the menu listed with the Lebanese plate that they have lentil rice but when i asked for it was told they didnt have any. I decided this was a minor issue and figured I would give it another shot some other time.

This evening I went with my boyfriend. We had a rather long wait for our food despite the lack of customers at the time. My boyfriend ordered the donair plate, which he said lacked in flavor and his sauce was very thin and watery. I am a vegetarian and ordered the falafel plate. The falafels were incredibly salty. I asked for lentil rice again, which they had this time, and was very mushy. When I got home and opened my container the smell of chicken hit me in the face. One bite of the lentil rice by both myself and my boyfriend confirmed that it was made with chicken broth. Of course, i was not able to eat any of it, which made up about 1/3 of my meal.

I'm not sure what else to say other than I will not...

I find the quality has gone down from the early Mezza days.

I've been a diehard fan of Mezza since before it was Mezza and was Venus Pizza.

I ate at the Barrington location daily for years. When the place franchised it did so without initially changing from its roots, and I was delighted when a shop opened up in Dartmouth.

However, over time I feel the quality of the food has reduced. It doesn't taste the same as it used to. The size of the large shwarma also shrunk while the price stayed the same.

I also found the service at the Dartmouth location was really lacking On one occasion I entered the store and the employees were gathered around the open cash till and were all engaged in messing with the money in the till, it looked like they were making change for their own pocket money. I waited for them to wait on me, but all they did was glance at me over their shoulders and then ignore me.

Eventually I gave up and left.

I wrote to the franchise to express my disappointment and frustration but they never responded to me.

In my opinion the prices are too high for the diminished quality and the staffing leaves a lot to be desired.

Was excited because mezzanine has been good at other locations . This mezzanine is the new healthy fast food don't care restaurant. Ordered the Sharama Platte and what andissapointment. Was not asked if for in or out . The chicken was dried and hard and crusty and side of falafel which I payed extra for was raw. I asked for it to be made again and the young lady did so. She said they just did new meat but again it was dried out and Falafel I had to get her to check twice and then finally I asked for her to send it back to kitchen to be cooked. My partner had a regular Donair said the meat was great there was nothing done to the bread it was just a plain old piece of pita bread that wasn't even heated just meet Chuck's on top he didn't want vegetables and the sauce was like water it look like milk and sugar taste was there but the consistency was just like water. Staff of 5 people on the line I had no clue what they were doing what they were doing. I'm particular however I would have given it a higher rating I have not had to send my food back and ask them to remake it twice. I will never revisit this place again and the prices are...
