Mill Woods Meat Shop — Local services in Edmonton

I have been going to this place for years.. like their food.. but today when I was there to pick up some marinated meats.. I saw there were more than 20 people in the shop and 90% of them were not wearing masks. There was a sign outside the store saying 6 ppl allowed inside but clearly the customers dint care to read or follow the sign.. since I was worried about my safety, I mentioned it to the lady who was serving me that you should only allow 6 people inside and rest should be waiting outside for their turn. But the man standing behind the counter who said he was the manager, yelled at me saying he can’t tell his customers to leave. I told him I’m a paying customer as well, and since you’re running a business during the pandemic, you are responsible to make sure the laws are followed in your premises. He clearly dint care about the laws and precautions and said he dint want to serve me. I told the customers who were standing so close to each other, not wearing masks that they should be responsible for their actions and left the premises without taking the food I came to order. They have definitely lost a loyal customer forever and I’ll be filing a complaint against this business for being so irresponsible during the pandemic. Such careless businesses and ignorant customers are responsible for the rise of cases in this country and the world in general. What a shame...

My good friend recommended this shop above all others in the area! I had my hesitations about pre-marinated meats and additionally with some of the reviews talking about “old” meat from this shop. None the less, I gave it a try to form my own opinion, and by gosh I am happy I did. It was a little intimidating when the entire staff went from laughing and joking, to looking at me with such serious perplexity’s as I walked in, however I pushed through and got what I came for….the marinated tandoori chicken! It was fresh. Very fresh. I inspected the meat heavily before cooking and the taste while eating. The meat truly tasted more fresh then what Sobeys or Coop is selling on there shelves, and for an extra dollar per pound, I get a world of flavour. I’m looking forward to going back and seeing what else the store has, as there is so...

Love this place, great service and delicious collection of marinated meats. Just perfect for BBQ.

The service and products of this place are still fantastic. In fact they have added a few new flavours and those are awesome too. However, I have started going to their Jagare ridge branch and for once I was disappointed with their product. We bought hot wings from them 2 weeks in a row but the second week was quite disappointing to be honest. The chicken hardly had any flavours, all the flavour was on the outside. Something was definitely not right. I think they should check up on the quality delivered by their franchises else their well earned reputation might take a hit.
