We went to dixons a couple weekends ago and we were super excited about the place! We were hopeing to have a little tour, samples and spend a little money. We left feeling confused and disappointed. It was a Saturday afternoon a woman greeted us with a friendly welcome but the younger man behind the bar didn't say hello or seem to have any clue what was going on. He didn't offer us samples and when we asked for some ourselves he didn't explain or discride anything he was giving us. My friend made a purchase and wasn't imidatly given change back, he had I ask for it. I had a sample of the gin drink which I loved so I asked for two cans. I paid, I got in my car and realized my money was taken but my beverages were not given to me So back in I go and all that was said is "oh you didn't grab them yourself?" Well no no one explained that to me. Hopefully this was just a case of a new employee learning the ropes. I'd like to say I'll be back because I did enjoy a few of the things I tired but all and all the place didn't leave a great taste...

I dropped into Dixons during the LCBO strike and bought a bottle of vodka and a bottle of the Trickle Down Rye Whiskey. The vodka was good but the rye whiskey, which was a premium price ($50ish), was not. Over the years I have experienced many Canadian whiskeys, bourbons and rye whiskeys, and by far this was the worst. To me it had the pungent aromas and flavours that are more characteristic of an unrefined moonshine than a whiskey, to the point that my wife wouldn't even drink it mixed with cola..... Finally, upon checkout, I was disappointed to find out that if I wanted to used a credit card, there would be an additional service charge. Not enough reasons for me to go back, but at least the...
Read moreWe purchased a distillery tour for my dad's birthday and it was GREAT! Exceed all expectations! The tour itself was super interesting, and our guide was really funny and informative. You don't need to know (or even like) all spirits to enjoy this tour! Afterwards we did tasting where they generously allowed us to sample anything we wanted. Their products are really smooth and 100x better than anything I've tried from a major distiller. I am not a rye/whisky fan but theirs was delicious! Their citrus gin and maple syrup were also to die for. We bought a lot of alcohol as well as the syrup and BBQ sauce - everything here would make a fantastic gift.
