Wonderful little, simple but yummy restaurant place just off in an industrial mall by the Guelph Auto Mall area. It's a husband-wife team doing all the cooking and serving. The breakfasts are simple but classic meals and I can say the buffets on Thursday and Friday night are really well reviewed by the locals. It's so good here that we come all the way from Kitchener for breakfast on the weekends as it's quiet. You always have parking and there's never any lineups or loud crowds to worry about...in fact a lot of locals eat here especially folks north of Guelph. I am not sure what the rest of the menu is like but I just ordered a Western Sandwich that came with home fries. This is the worst Western I have ever eaten! I asked for it to be well toasted, it was not so the bread was soggy by the time I got it to where I was going (2 min away). The egg is greasy and I cannot keep it on the toast. The cheese seems to be some sort of processed, hard to tell cause it was completely melted more like a cheese sauce. The homefries are covered in some sort of seasoning and are very undercooked. Zest Cafe is the best! Went there for the first time on Father's Day after finding every breakfast place completely packed - and I am so glad I did! Everything about Zest Cafe is amazing - the portions are generous, the food itself is high quality, and the prices are very affordable! The atmosphere is great as well, as we had plenty of time to sit and enjoy the quiet and welcoming ambiance. The service is excellent and the staff are extremely nice!
