I wouldn't call it a destination activity we live 10 minutes away and though it would be nice to check out. It's a short 600 meter glorified poop trail for local dog owners with Christmas lights none of the 🎶 music speakers were working and if you book online be prepared to wait.

Staff were very nice but disorganized, 4 people in our family all needed a signed waviers which I completed ahead on time.

We had a scheduled renovation for 5:45 after waiting 30 minutes in line I was told by Friday Harbour staff they did not have our 10 year old daughters waiver and to step aside. Which I completed ahead on time on her behalf.

So I searched my confirmation email found my daughters waiver and provided the PDF wavier from my phone which caused...

So many mosquitoes, even with repellent, it is awful! Not to mention parts of this preserve isn't well marked in the trail, so you could easily get mislead. They do have a map, but still, you need markers for each different trail. Some of the paths are really well maintained and wide, others are very jungle-like, narrow opening and getting hit with branches/bushes. There is also some odd bog with a bunch of dead trees, a definite eerie spot on the trail. I only managed 4km of this supposed 6.5km it advertises. I believe the rest of the km I missed were connecting trails to the road or different loops I chose not to do. I mainly focused on a the bigger outer loop. Wear bug spray, you will still get bit, but perhaps not as...

We hiked here on a rainy day, and it was great! All trails are in amazing condition and you can hike here in any weather. It is a gem on conditions side and still feels like untouched nature. Great place to visit!

From Friday Harbour’s web site: A full one-third of the 600-acre Resort has been dedicated as a Nature Preserve, and from land to lake, head to heel, every measure has been taken to ensure natural species enjoy their all seasons experience too. With trails and bridged streams, there’s plenty to discover by foot or bike in winter, spring,...

It's a nice place, just to bad some of the users toss their beer and soda cans on the ground instead of in the provided garbage and recycling bins. Every time I go for a walk there I pack out other people's garbage. Those users who carry it in, carry it back out, you are perfectly capable of doing so. You know who you are.
