Ripped off by the owner. So, this place used to be Bernard Callebaut. Twice we went in to get gifts as we had done for many years. The owner had barely any chocolates and sold us the dregs of what he had left for full price.
He had some half excuse as to why he didn't have any stock.
A while later we found out the Bernard Callebaut was going out of business and that we were lied to so the owner could pawn off his leftovers on us.
So we will not be going back ever. We paid insane prices for good chocolate for many years for our loved ones. This guy chose greed and deception over our business.
I don't understand how someone can just lie to your face and feel good about yourself.
To be fair the chocolate, when you could get the ones you want, were good, the store is clean and nice, but the moral character of the guy blatantly lying and using me to offload his old stock is unforgivable.
REPLY TO YOUR REPLY..... This was WHEN you were switching over you blatantly lied to my face and then I found out later.
I supported you for YEARS.
I was happy and proud to go into your shop and buy my loved ones expensive chocolates for special events until you did this to me.
Yes I post reviews in bunches when I think about it. Whenever I drive by your shop I remember how I was treated and I finally called you out.
You will notice most of my reviews are positive. This is not an attack on your product or your store. YOU did something to ME and I called you out...
Read moreWhen I purchased a 23$ piece of chocolate I didnât expect it to melt an hour and half later. Still winter and 7 degrees last week Iâd left it in the car as I made a pit stop before delivering the intended gift of chocolate. I was shocked to discover it had melted into the cello wrap. When I returned to inquire the clerk didnât give me even the courtesy of finishing my sentence. They carried on with a second client but threw excuses at me talking over the other customer. Saying, âsee how hot it is in this window? I had to close the blinds by noon todayâ. Your car must have been hotâ. Sadly the chocolate I bought was also standing in the suns rays thru the window before I purchased it but I had not even considered this to be a problem being winter. I then spoke with the manager the next morning hoping to be treated with respect but he also condescended to me without being willing to consider any part of taking responsibility for cheap set chocolate let alone presenting it in a sunny window. When I returned to pick up the item (for the purpose of showing this here but there is no ability to do so) I politely thanked him and said,â sadly your business is Under Calliber (pun)â. I am a small business owner of 20 years now and I would never dream of treating my clients with the lack of dignity I experienced at Bernard...
Read moreEdited original review to addâŠthe store owner replied to my review below 2 YEARS LATER to place the blame on my supposed behaviour đ Dude, a bad review is an opportunity to do better. Just accept it gracefully and move on instead of making yourself look sillyâŠ
Original review: Absolutely awful customer service. Ran there after work so I could quickly grab a box of milk chocolates to send home for my dad only to have the man who appears to be the owner (?) clearly unimpressed by the fact that 4 people had come in around 515 (they close at 530) during the busiest time of the year. I asked him what type of chocolates were in the âassorted boxesâ and he replied âeverything you see hereâ flatly. So I asked him if I could choose my own and he said âwell yes, but we close at 530â. I told him it was 520 and I didnât see the issue. His rude attitude completely turned me off of buying his overpriced chocolates and I told him why I was leaving and walked out. Iâd rather give my business to Annegrets or Karat Chocolates who are always lovely and appreciate their clients, as well as offer an amazing selection of...
