I have been a member of this gym since the building changed from being a building center to a gym. I'm trying to recall what year that was but I was at Premier before and the owners offered me a $29/mth lifetime membership when it opened as Xtreme Fitness. Thinking 1997 or 8. I think it became something else before Goodlife took it over. They really upgraded it with lots of the most current equipment. They have replaced all the the free weights at least a couple of times to keep it modern and new looking. The machines and cardio equipment are getting a bit older now and if I had one complaint, it would be that weight machines and cardio machines break down with greater regularity but it takes them extraordinary long periods of time to have them repaired. My expectation is nothing would be out of order more than two days and I don't think that is unreasonable. We see machines down for over a week to two weeks regularly. The men's sauna has been closed more times than I can count. They did completely rebuild it at least once but it still stops functioning a few times per year and can be out of service for over two weeks easily. We discuss this and have difficulty understanding why they operator would not have a full time maintenance and repair employee given the age of equipment and propensity to break. I don't know why they don't prioritize getting broken down machines fixed within a couple of days max. Might be that they do have full time maintenance and repair staff who service all the local clubs and just wait as the different clubs are serviced on a schedule that is encountering more breakdowns than anticipated. The club is well kept otherwise as far as I see. People are cleaning daily as would be expected of a 24/7 operation. The staff are mostly quite friendly and respectful from the greeters to the personal trainers. It's a great club but a communication from the operators would be most appropriate since I am there most days and hear complaints about equipment repairs not being done expeditiously. I don't know if they are not effective in keeping an ideal parts inventory or short of staff and not willing to call in third party vendors but a good general manager would resolve whatever is keeping the club from living up to reasonable expectations. I know a lot of people who have left over the years. It's a lot easier to keep an existing customer than it is to attract new ones. Management has not sent out a survey in a very long time so they appear not to care about customer satisfaction or lack strong mgmt. I'm sure they are accountable to minimize costs and drive revenue but managerial courage would dictate running a proper survey to determine what ctq items are. Then reporting the consolidated results to regional or higher leadership along with the corrective actions local mgmt recommends along with a full costing to bring the club back up in stature. Running a cost to replace model for x number of machines along with anticipated membership number increases resulting from a campaign advertising the new state of the art equipment the club has just been furnished with to plug into an amortization model and arrive at a net benefit for...

About three days ago, I parked my car at the GoodLife Fitness parking lot before my workout. When I finished and returned to my car, I was shocked to find that someone had hit my license plate and bumper and fled the scene. I reported the incident to GoodLife staff, and they assured me they would review the security footage and provide a response within two days.

By Monday, I had not heard back, so I followed up. They then asked me to come in the next morning to review the footage myself. I showed up early in the morning to check the cameras, but unfortunately, I couldn’t identify the car responsible. The main reason? GoodLife’s security cameras are outdated, and worse, there were no cameras covering the area where I parked.

This lack of proper security is unacceptable. It’s not just about my car—it’s about the safety and well-being of everyone who uses this facility. If an incident like this can go unresolved due to poor security, imagine what could happen if something more serious occurred, such as a fight or an emergency. This parking lot sees thousands of cars daily, yet basic security measures like updated and strategically placed cameras are missing.

As a result, I’m left with over $1,500 in damages to my car, and there’s no way to hold the responsible party accountable. GoodLife has also refused to take responsibility for this issue.

This incident is just one example of poor management at this GoodLife location. The problems extend beyond the parking lot: • Locker rooms are often dirty and disorganized. • Theft has been reported frequently, yet no real action is taken. • Equipment is old and outdated, with no replacements for years. • The pool and jacuzzi are dirty, and I’ve seen people entering the water in regular shorts, which shows a lack of proper hygiene enforcement.

These issues all point to weak management and a lack of accountability from GoodLife Fitness. As a loyal customer, I expect better standards of cleanliness, security, and overall organization from a fitness center of this reputation. It’s disappointing to see how poorly this location...

Great location, great support staff and my Personal Trainer is AMAZING!!!

This club is 5 minutes from my home (so is Hillcrest) but the main reason I chose this was the personal service I received when I was looking for a Personal Training program and the Trainer I am currently working with. When I initially spoke with Bruce (Trainer Manager), everything went great and he confidently assured me that he would be able to find someone that would not only work with my schedule but, that this individual would be more than suited to my personality and needs. Bruce's choice of trainers for me was right on point!!

Enter Richard Beckstead...

From the start, Richard wanted to know everything about my past experience, any limitations I had and what goals I wanted to achieve through Personal Training. After that we started on a path that has been extremely rewarding and, with Richard's support, numerous personal bests have been met and surpassed in more than one area. When I returned to the club after a short break for health reasons, Richard was extremely accommodating of my new/altered schedule needs and also with the new restrictions in place. He put together a custom program for me that has seen my rehab move along a lot faster than I could imagine. If you're willing to put in the time and effort, Richard will duplicate your efforts, often providing additional skills, stretches etc for you in order to help you grow/evolve even faster! His professionalism, personal interest in my growth combined with his personable approach to each session is a welcome change from previous experiences and always helps motivate me to 'hit the gym' even on off days!

If you're looking for a GREAT Trainer, regardless of your current level, Richard would definitely be my unreserved recommendation every time!!! I can't say enough good things about my experiences with Richard, Bruce, Jay (General Manager) and the rest of the support staff at the...

I visited this GoodLife location on a Friday evening (between 6–9 PM) and overall had a good experience, with a few things worth noting. Parking & Location: The parking situation is decent there's enough space to find a spot even during peak hours. However, the pavement and condition of the parking lot could really use an upgrade. It’s uneven, tight in some areas, and not the easiest to navigate. The gym entrance is located on the side of the building when you drive in (not at the front or back), which might not be immediately obvious if it's your first visit. First Impressions & Layout: At first glance, I assumed the facility only had a small studio, cardio machines, and a pool. However, once I went through the men’s changing room, I was surprised to find that the main gym is actually located beyond it. This layout might be a bit confusing at first, but it leads to a much more spacious area than expected. Facilities & Amenities: This location is well-equipped. After the change room, you’ll find a full gym setup including: Plenty of cardio machines A coaching area A good selection of weight machines Dumbbell benches and a few squat racks (2) A stretching area on a lower platform An additional room with hanging bars, a turf area, ab/stretching machines There’s also a solid list of amenities: sauna, steam room, showers, and a pool. It really offers everything you need for a complete workout and recovery session. Atmosphere & Lighting: One downside I noticed was the lighting. The gym feels a bit dark, and there isn’t much natural light coming in. This might not bother everyone, but personally, I prefer a brighter workout space. Overall: Despite a few quirks like the layout and dim lighting, this GoodLife location has a full range of equipment and facilities that make it a solid choice for most gym-goers. If they improved the parking lot and enhanced the lighting, it would easily be one of the better gyms in the area.

The pool’s quality is getting worse every day. What kind of situation is this? You can practically see the disease and filth coming out of that water.

My experience with this gym has been quite disappointing. While I was a member for nearly six months, an unfortunate incident occurred a few months ago when I fell on a treadmill that had been left running at a high speed. I suffered injuries to my arm and knee, leaving me with a significant bruise. Despite the seriousness of the situation, there was no proper follow-up care, and I was informed that there was no insurance coverage available for my injury. I had hoped for some support, such as physiotherapy, especially given the high membership fees, but none was provided. This lack of care contributed to my dissatisfaction, leading me to terminate my personal training membership. Unfortunately, I had to pay a substantial cancellation fee (20% of the total membership cost), which added to my frustration. When I spoke with the manager about canceling, there was no effort to address my concerns or retain my membership, making it seem like their primary concern was simply collecting the cancellation fee. In addition to my previous concerns, the overall cleanliness and facilities at this gym were well below expectations. The lack of private changing rooms was particularly uncomfortable, as members are forced to change in front of each other, which I found to be quite disrespectful. The toilets were consistently dirty and poorly maintained, and the locker area was often unhygienic, with water from the showers dripping everywhere. The combination of these issues made for an unpleasant experience overall. If you’re considering signing up at GoodLife Fitness, I would advise you to carefully consider your options, as my experience at this location has been far from ideal.
