Tutto Bene Osteria Ltd — Restaurant in Markham

I recommend Tutto Bene highly. It is my favourite Italian restaurant.

It is the best Italian north-south cuisine offered by Giovanni & Marco in Thornhill. Creativity and quality of dishes are excellent. They use fresh local produce and prepare delicious fish, meat as well as vegetarian food. The dinner starts with fine wine and finishes with properly prepared espresso and/or cappuccino. A truly Italian affair.

Tutto Bene has an elegant charming atmosphere. The tables have white tablecloths and always look spotless. Even the patio (closed wintertime) tables are kept to high standards. The entire staff is fabulous and always display high professional standards. They know how to make their guests feel welcome as soon as they arrive.

I love to order Trout or Sea Bass which is normally accompanied with a variety of vegetables. I discovered their Italian style red cabbage - it is out of this world and my favourite dish and I cannot get it elsewhere.

Their meat dishes are a delight too and often served with "rosti" (Swiss people call it Roesti). Bolognese with house made gnocchi a la Tutto Bene is excellent, as are their various other pasta dishes.

My vegetarian friends love to dine there too. The menu offers multiple food choices as well as the daily specials. Giovanni's recipe for eggplant "Melanzane" in light tomato sauce is the best.

If i could give a negative review I would but thats not possible. Anyways, the restaurant is ok a little on the dirty side and very BUDGET. The benches didnt have upholstery on the back rather just pillows up against a wall, olive bottles used as decoration, and extremely tacky xmas decorations that they probably thought would be cute but just looks cheap. The bathrooms were dirty and the kitchen looked a little on the filthy side. The food was decent nothing to rave about. My family of four decided to come to this restaurant after my mom has been raving about it for the last month (i dont know why after coming here). However the waitress left a bad taste in my mouth that washed away all that mediocrely tasting food. When the waitress first appeared she seemed nice she greeted us with a false smile that was quickly diluted as the rest of the night unfolded. She was disengeniune, pushy, aggressive, rude, and abrasive. While the table next to us was getting the royal treatment. I dont want to start using race as a reason to why she was rude but it did look that way. At the end of the dinner we decided to get the bill and told the owner about our experience who seemed like he cared about the overall lack of service but didnt offer anything to make up for it. He just gave us the bill apologized and that was it. Probably never going to...

Our visit to Tutto Bene restaurant tonight left much to be desired. While our server was genuinely friendly, a misunderstanding about the type of water we ordered led to an unpleasant surprise. We believed we were getting tap water when we requested flat water, only to discover a shocking $36.00 charge for plain bottled water ($12.00 per bottle). This pricing caught us off guard, as most places serve water in glass bottles without such steep fees. As a regular customer, I was taken aback by this unexpected expense. Our server apologized for the confusion, which was appreciated. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when the manager/owner approached us. His rude and condescending attitude during the discussion left a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing any positive aspects of the meal. While the server's genuine kindness was notable, the experience as a whole was marred by the water pricing and the manager's behavior. I hope Tutto Bene takes this feedback constructively to improve transparency and customer interactions for a more enjoyable dining experience...
