Now open 24 hours for the Korean sauna! I only came for the free sauna promotion (on-going til Dec 10!) and can say it was a wonderful experience. Also, don't forget to bring flip-flops to this place! They generally don't provide that and often the changeroom floors are wet. And you also don't need to bring a lock with you because they provide you with a bracelet to open your automated locker door. Nor do you need to bring a bikini or towel bc they provide spa clothes and cloths. The place is well-kept (décor and cleanliness - saw the same employee mopping, replenishing, and interacting professionally with guests), but I will say I found it inconvenient for employees carrying buckets to walk along the front reception just to get to another room to dump the buckets. To me, their practices should stay hidden and should be kept separate from oncoming prospects to keep the zen vibe undisturbed.
The Korean sauna was set for 50°C and felt a bit dry at first. After a while, an employee came by to wet the hanging bags above us to bring back the humidity. I wore a bikini under my shirt and shorts (not knowing they give you a set of clothes) and found that I didn't even need to wear that since you'd be perspiring quite a bit, depending. There are no benches, just mats accompanied by a wooden pillow block. They give you a set of 2 towels so you don't really need to bring one. I do wish there was maybe some soft music playing so I could relax a bit more instead of overhearing some of the other convos echoing around the room.
The women's changeroom has open showers, complete with shampoo, conditioners and body wash. The shower is a bit confusing to operate at first but feels amazing once you get it going. There's also a hair dryer, some face wash, make up remover, q-tips, but lacks in lotion (a must-have after the sauna) and hand soap - you can use body wash from the shower I guess?
Overall, from the moment I walked in and set foot, this place was very welcoming, friendly and had most of the amenities that I was looking for within a spa environment. They could use some improvements, but nonetheless a great experience worth a...
Read moreThe massage itself was good that I would give the credit to the massagists; however, the way that this business operates litterly DISCUSSED me. 1. we were told to open an account and deposit $500 In order to have a single time massage, Which is called TIED SELLLING. I've been to their Scarborough location many times before and we were never required to open an account and make a deposit. At the cashier, a butch of student look Young people were asked to open an accout and pay 500 after they got the massage. They looked ignorant. Apparently, they were not advised appropriately before the service. Not sure how many customers get into the same trap. 2. I've never understood why this place makes a single service This complicated and charges differently for the same service: Cash price; price with tax; cash/email transfer only for acct opening. higher price if you go through insurance, and we were not advised appropriately what CAN Or what CANNOT be used with our own account money In advance. The business operates the way benefits themselves and consumers pay for the price. The way that this business operates doesn't appear ethical to me, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Consumers, protect yourself and be aware of what...
Read moreI found out about Water Q Spa through a Google search of spas close to my workplace, and I decided to book with them. It was a bit hard to find at first, since you have to go through a plaza to get to the one behind it (a bit confusing but easy after you go there once).
I was amazed when I walked in! Everything was so new, modern, clean. The spa has only been only since January 2015, and the receptionist (I believe her name was Kiki) was very friendly and welcoming.
I got a full body massage for $60 and it was amazing! Exactly what I needed after work on a Friday. The spa is so spacious, I couldn't even keep track of how many private rooms there are (there must have been at least 10 that I saw, maybe more).
It is a very luxurious spa, and I would definitely recommend it! especially because of how new and clean it is. In some spas you can tell the wear and tear that come with age, but since they are so new you feel like you're their...
