First the positive
I've updated this since covid.
Other places are opening buffets...mohawk still has no decent place to eat. A large number of slots are turned off for some reason. This has been going on for months. Flamboro has same slots but not so many off.
Bill takers on so many machines are pathetic. Likely need cleaning. I think maintenance is something not done. Spend more time trying to out my money in than playing it seems.
Now my biggest complaint.... I play slots there and like most people have my favorites. I take my mother and we go at midnite till 3am or later. This way it's very quiet and we can get the slots we want. The problem here is that there are certain players there that feel like they must play 2 or even 3 machines at once. Well not play but reserve machines!! Often machines sit idle for hours with a cup on the machine or the chair spun around and a few credits in the machine. We often go and find all the machines we want to play are "reserved". On one occasion one guy had 4 machines he had reserved. I finally got a slot attendant and they practically had to force this person to give up a machine.
Last week we arrived to find 5 machines tied up by 2 people. I asked one person who had 3 machines if I could play one. They said no. The slot attendant refused to do anything.
This casino is the worst one for this reserving machine issue. I know its the players creating this but the casino needs to become more aggressive in stopping this. At least make people aware of the policies.
Another pet peeve is that the customer service desk is not open 24 hours. In a 24 hour casino this is ridiculous!!!! If you need anything late you're out of luck
Comps...what do we do with all our play credits. NOTHING. There are no events...no decent restaurants unless you're into noodles.
On a plus. Slot attendants are amazing. Super friendly...
Read moreI understand the need to check ID but this experience was excessive. I am 21 years old and needed to show 4 pieces of photo ID, 4 credit cards/debit cards with my name on it and have her check my signature. And the lady STILL hardly believed it was me. I've had some skin issues recently and the fact this lady thought my acne was so bad I wasn't even recognizable made me so self conscious I didn't even want to be out in public anymore. I wasn't even going in there to gamble, I was just meeting my parents for lunch there. I have never been nearly turned away since I look like all 4 of my photo IDs in my wallet. My boyfriend who is 22 got in right away with his first piece of ID. That experience of needing to prove that I am who I say I am really upset me. I will never be back.
Below is the response Mohawk Casino gave me. To which I reply:
Yes... I understand that I need to be ID'd. Hence why at the beginning of my comment I said that I understand the concept of getting ID'd... However, 8 pieces of ID is excessive (4 of which are photo). Do people usually forge 8 pieces of ID and attempt to go into your casino? Because if so, then I would expect everyone to be forced to show 8 pieces. Unless, the reason I needed to go to such extreme lengths to prove I am who I (along with all 8 pieces of my ID) say I am is because the lady thought that my acne was so bad I was not recognizable. In which case, i am so extremely hurt. It takes a lot of strength for me to go out in public with acne as bad as mine is. What I learned from this experience is that I should give up showing my horrifying face in public. Thank you for...
