First time going to Horse races in general, so I had no clue what to expect. Went as a guest for a 50th anniversary celebration. I didn't do the booking, so I can not comment on that. There were 10 of us all together, and we were seated right by the window with an amazing view of the racetrack. Server "Dee" was amazing and, quite honestly, the highlight of the entire evening (I'm not really into betting, etc). She was helpful and entertaining. My table had Bruschetta and Harvest board to start. They were delicious, no complaints. My main was Ontario AAA Flat Iron Steak, which I had with dauphinoise potatoes. Presentation was great! The meat was cooked properly. I was not too pleased to have some chewy bits that I had to spit out. I'm told it is typical of that type of steak, but there were no other options. Considering my entrée was $37, I had slightly higher expectations. I remember thinking I wished we had eaten at the Keg instead. I have included photos of the chicken entrée, and the Cochiglioni Marinara. Was told they were delicious. I did try some of the potato wedges and they were very good. Crunchy, but not greasy. For dessert, I had the Crème Brûlée. Seasonal flavour that day was caramel, and it had a noticeable caramel taste and colour. Sorry, no photo, but it was in a wide and swallow dish and looked as usual. Big enough to share, but small enough for one with a sweet tooth. If I had to nitpic, it would be that our monitor kept losing connection and picture. Also that my drink was not refilled until I got dessert. Otherwise, it was a fun time!

We rarely leave reviews, but extremely disappointed with the whole experience related to this evening! We had planned well in advance for a special 80th birthday celebration that our entire family (10+ people) attended and it was a huge letdown for what turned out to be a massive expense.

Reservation process was absolutely terrible…we had started trying to book a table over a month in advance and nobody ever answered the phones, our voice messages were never responded to, and numerous attempts to contact them via email were ignored.

Service was awful…orders for food and drinks were extremely slow to come out (and it was far from busy in the restaurant), in some cases the wrong food was brought out, and bills were wrong and mixed up at the end of the evening. Not once did a manager stop by to check on us either, nor could we find one at the end of the night.

Food was marginal at best…very expensive for what you get, chicken dinners were very dry and over cooked, vegetables were cold, steak was bland. Pretty disappointing for what ended up being an average of almost $100/person.

We had made it well know that it was a special birthday celebration and it was very disappointing that absolutely nothing was done to help celebrate. In fairness, birthday congrats were displayed on the screen beside the track, but no singing, no complementary dessert or beverage…nothing.

Overall, unfortunately, very disappointed with this experience as we really wanted it to be a...

Enjoyed an evening at the races for the first time in years. The dining room seating was as expected, close to the finish line and with an excellent view of the action. Our server was new - by her own admission - but enthusiastic and pleasant. The food was a serious disappointment. We ordered the dip platter for a party of 4, which came as 4 generous smears of dip on a platter with 4 smallish pieces of toasted focaccia for dipping - needless to say more bread was needed, and it took a good while to arrive. The dips themselves were quite tasty, excepting the guacamole-esque dip which was a pass for our party. Our mains varied - the beyond meat burger and harvest burger were passable, the mesquite chicken was quite nice and generously portioned. The Organic fish and chips looked and tasted like it had come straight out of the Captain Highliner box and was accompanied by some very dry coleslaw, making the chip part of the meal the actual highlight. Our meals also varied greatly in temperature, indicating that most everything but the chicken had spent a good deal of time under the warming light. Cocktails were generally very tasty and a decent value for your money, but the beer selection was very poor and ridiculously priced. We didn't attempt dessert. Would return for the races, but likely not for this particular...
