Marché Swadesh — Local services in Montreal

Me and my Indian Muslim friend went to that store. Since she eats beef, which wasn't available in Indian. I told her bd store is the best place for beef. We are students and new Comers. Went there with our small budget. The owner changed us almost $60 for few pounds of meat. Which is okay but when we came back home there were only bones. Nothing else. It's like robbing from us. I thought that was a mistake. May be by mistake they gave us only bones. This time when I went with my other friend that Store. He said its closing time at 6:20pm. Since they don't have prices I took few items to ask the price. He rushed me and scanned all of them in a mannerless way. I humbled ask I just need to know the price for these items. I am not gonna buy all of them. He took them off from my box but end up charging $193.89. Because of his look I couldn't ask anything. When I came back. I checked every single of them there were $44 to $45 different!! As a respectable person owner of the store robbing from student money is not ok. I have the receipt and the photos of the item. I am going to file a complaint...

Worst experience in Canada!!!! I took one cold drink (Limda). When I taste it it was like burned oil . Then I searched for the Expiration Date on the Bottle, I could not find it as it was scratch by something and for every same item it was same. When I tried talk to the store owner about this issue, his behaviour was really unprofessional and rude. I am sure it was their fault and they are keeping this expired food item in the store willingly for profit and consumer could have serious food poisoning issue by consuming these kind of expired food items. Even they told me to bring it back to them as it was opened by me, they can’t now serve it to customer!! They should check all bottles and remove the expired one rather than asking customer to remove it from self as it opened! That means still which are not opened , they want to sell that to others!!!

NOT RECOMMENDED SHOP. They don’t deserve this one star I have given. Behaviour of the staff also bad. They don’t have the minimum customer service etiquette. I wish I could make a complain to the Quebec Food Safety...

Promoting local/community business doesn't mean promoting dishonest, uncompliant business practices. I'm not talking about meat or fish items. Beside those, the store doesn't put the price on the shelves, doesn't put the price on the item, the price is nowhere for many packed goods. The price will vary from one client to another, from one day to another, from one cashier to another, charges same item 2x common, charges extra very common etc. Some items will be scanned, some price will be entered manually, or just ask you directly the amount due if taking 1-2 items with...
