Been to a few Chumleighs and it’s usually the same. They have a good selection and for games they are usually right on to what the market expects. A rare 10 year old 360 game thats $30 on Amazon is $30 here. Game prices are fine. CD prices can be surprising. Some Singles are $7 and some albums can be $4. You aren’t going to get the same price as a thrift store but the CD’s here are very clean and the discs are like new - the whole CD is like new. That’s the difference maker. I’m not out to buy that many CD’s so spending $12 on 2 CD’s every so often is fine. The staff are always very friendly and it’s never that busy. It’s just a shame that nearly every other location in Kingston has closed during the Covid era.

This is the most beautiful place in the world. I love the smell of old games and movies when I come in. I got most of these games from your store and I have been satisfied with all of them. And they all worked

What kind of place employees staff that refuse to cancel the transaction before it is ever paid for ?? I recommend to buy used off Amazon or Marketplace and to avoid this place !! Yesterday was my first time in this location, and last . I was misinformed by one cashier how the buy 3 get 2 free works . It says it excludes TV shows . I was purchasing "The Love Boat," and my friend wanted the " Crosby Show " and another DVD. I asked one cashier if this would still be algeable for the two free DVD "s and was told yes . I suggested to my friend to put our purchases together so she could get a couple of free d v d since she has no internet at home. When the other cashier put it, though, I knew by the total price that something was off. When she said it, the other cashier had said.I told her to cancel the transaction that I was no longer interested in making the purchase. She refused to cancel it and kept saying it's okay.I said no, it's not : I am the one paying for it, and this is not what the other cashier told me. Instead of. Canceling it like I had requested. She hit the total and put it on the debut machine . My friend was so embarrassed to feel like a baker that she went into her overdraft to pay for just to avoid any conflict with the cashier. Is this how a customer deserves to be treated? Also, your staff needs to get their facts straight. Both the la boat and the crosby show aired on t v for many years!!

FYI - Management is not truthful in their replies ! I was told that this was edible for the 2 free videos or my friend and I would not of put our order together!!! I may of been born at night however Management it was NOT...

I stop by Chumleighs Kingston whenever I am here on vacation.

Staff is friendly, prices are very fair. In fact a lot of their games are even slightly below market which is always a treat as a game collector.

I see a lot of people are saying that trade in values are not fair. I personally traded in a bunch of Anime DVDs/Blurays here and they gave me a very fair offer which I gladly took.

Their game, DVD and VHS selection were phenomenal. As a VHS collector is was a breath of fresh air to finally see a store have a decent selection on tapes.

Owner and staff are helpful and accommodating. On one of my more recent trips out to Kingston, There was a game I wanted from them that had some water damage to the case. I asked if it would be possible to swap cases and the staff member was happy to do so for me. This was much appreciated. They went above and beyond and it made me want to continue shopping here for years to come.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars, is that Chumleighs has a practice of putting hard to remove stickers on the back of the case art itself which means my games I buy from them will forever have a price sticker I cannot safely remove after purchase. Would be better if they put it on the plastic part of case as that can be removed easier and keeps my games in good cosmetic shape.

Overall, I would still definitely recommend this place to people who are hunting for retro video games, CDs, DVDs and VHS. They will not...

They're still one of the few places where you can trade in used games; however they could be more transparent when it comes to their store policy. I purchased some controllers for a single use party that I was hosting. I told the cashier that this was a one time thing and that I may not actually need so many controllers. I asked if it was possible to return any unused items to which she told me I'd have 13 days to return items. Okay, I only used 2 of the four controller, so I returned before 13 days to return the two unopened, unused controllers. I was then told that they won't accept the return because their new policy only accepts returns of defective items. Well, this was oddly convenient for them because nothing of the sort was explained to me when I clearly asked at the time of purchase. I honestly would not have mind the loss if it was clearly communicated to me from the start and I wasn't mislead. For the time being, I'll probably try the other locations or just shop online. They offered to buy back the items for like 10% of what I paid for which is kind of silly. Most businesses have a 20% restocking fee which is understandable but only returning 10% of the cost is kind of odd in my eyes. I feel kind of petty complaining about this but I hope management sees this and will learn to better train staff when it comes to this or have some posters clearly stating...
