If you're reading this review, chances are that you'll be a 12th grader entering university, and just like me, you probably put MedSyd down near the bottom of your list. After all, everyone wants Ontario Hall or Perth! Don't panic, because although a traditional style dorm, MedSyd will truly make you feel like home! Food wise, you won't ever be impressed (outside of cultural nights of course) but you won't go hungry. Washrooms, although shared are kept clean and to a high standard. It does have a bit of a negative reputation, but for our year at least, MedSyd wasn't bad at all! The other bonus with MedSyd is location! You can walk to UC hill in under 10 minutes, and chances are that your classes will be relatively close! Also be sure to check out the Sakura trees in the spring, they'll be blooming in the courtyard! I also got incredibly lucky with my floor and was able to build friendships with almost everyone on the floor! Room sizing does vary though, so watch out!! MedSyd might not be your first choice, but you'll have an awesome time here no matter what!

Read moreI would not recommend someone stay here for their first year unless they liked high-school, because essentially that's what it is. It's basically a popularity contest and everyone knows what you're doing all the time. If you value privacy stay at Ohall or Elgin for that and the food quality much better at Ohall. Horrible food at Medsyd and Elgin...
Read moreThe underground tunnel system connecting the “Med” and “Syd” halves took me weeks to figure out, but once you do, it’s less of a maze for sure! Gates are locked at 19:00, which is ridiculously early IMO given that I have classes that end at 20:30, but I don’t have too many complaints...
