While visiting the Prime Minister's and Governor General's residences it is nice to go a bit farther along Sir George Etienne Cartier parkway to see the Aviation and Space museum and the RCMP horse stables. I recommend that on your journey to stop and take a look from the scenic view from the lookout point. There you can have a great view of the Ottawa River, Ottawa's Marina and on the other side of the water, Gatineau Quebec. There are also some nice bike trails in the area that you can take advantage of on this adventure. The trail is in good shape and there are some small hills, but not too difficult of a ride. There is an observation deck, a pier below, and a boat restaurant, but the restaurant is closed during the epidemic. There are a lot of yachts parked at the pier, and there is a large parking lot, but only yacht clubs are allowed to park here. You can see the confluence of the Ottawa River and the Gatineau River, the scenery is beautiful.

This is a very beautiful resting area, for tourists, cyclists,or others it over looks the Ottawa River from its hight and lofty view. It is truly stunning to behold. Beautiful buildings in the back with modern boating docks below. It is very relaxing to watch the boats and activities so very far below. It also has signs and plagues telling what these things meant ...

Great spot with views of the Ottawa River. You can see Rowers on the river training in the early morning. Great spot to see Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival early morning and early evening lift offs in early September although this is a very popular spot for the viewing so get there early. Parking very limited so you may have to park on Lisgar...
