Worst event experience of my entire life. Came for a one piece release event where they advertised great prizing. But mid tournament, to my dismay they changed the prizing to be much more lackluster... I had to drive 40min out to come and the false advertising got many others to make the drive as well.
The tournament was suppose to begin at 6pm as per bandai app, but then was changed to 6:30. Fine. But they waited for no shows for 30min and the tournament did not start till 7ish... I understand wanting to wait for no shows but without them calling in or having any idea where they are... it's a 15min wait max.
Ahem. Not only did it start much later then advertised but no staff was running the tournament at all. Many of us had to go upstairs to get staffs attention to do their jobs. I understand they had another tournament running upstairs but having 3 staff for 1 tournament upstairs and 0 downstairs for the other tournament makes no sense. Without proper TO's rounds went much longer then expected and many were getting tireless.
Lastly, the chairs were absolute death traps. I saw many people break the chairs they were sitting on and fall off. To no fault of their own, the chair legs would simply give. It's like they found chairs off the side of the road and used those. Please use better chairs as someone could of been hurt and that could lead to lawsuits.
What bothered me the most was the lack of respect for the customers time and trust. Trusting their discord for prizing and then going back on their word and wasting our time with incompetent staff... the event did not end till 11 pm and it was not worth it at all.
I cannot attest to their stock and pricing however I'm sure you can go anywhere else for similar service. After what happened during that tournament and the incompetence encountered, I would not spend my...
Read moreOk. So this review will be alittle heartfelt as it pertains to my sons experience.
My son does well in school, we're lucky to have him. So genuinely, my wife and i would like to support whatever passion he may have, from baseball, pokemon cards, whatever. Good kid good kid.
He recently got into the competitive side of pokemon tcg, and we even enrolled him to a school that offered a 1 week tutorial.
Now, our son is requesting for people to play with.. unfortunately, this wasnt my wife and i's territory. We know nothing about how to answer and grant him what he is requesting.
I did some quick googling, and by the grace of God, i came across this place. What initially enticed us to go was the pokemon leagues and tournaments, but on the day of our visit, it was only free board games (which was enough to drag our little family in).
We were humbly greeted by roy (the shop owner) and felix (who appears to be roys close bud). They were so kind as to spend their 15-20mins to welcome our son, educate us on the what to do and what not to do, what to look for when buying, how not to get scammed, how to cross reference and check prices etc.
Roy even gave my son some starter kits and a bonus pack which u could only get from winning tournaments. I dont play this game, my son does, but my God.... the reception in this place is so warm, even i want to play now with the gang.
Overall, i couldnt be happier with this pokemon tcg community. They are there for our son, they will be there for yours, and you.
Roy, we will be seeing alot more of you buddy....
Read moreAbsolutely horrific tournament experience, came for a One Piece pre release event that was scheduled for 6pm, then got changed to 6:30pm, and then delayed to 7pm. The owners did not do anything to get the tournament started and us, the players, had to go upstairs to even have the next round start. Not a single staff member came to the downstairs play area to supervise and run the tournament and the event lasted much longer than it had to due to the inability of the staff to understand how to run an event. They had also changed the prizing structure MID tournament as they 'miscounted' their stock of product leaving us players in the dark and paying for an event which had certain prizing announced beforehand that got changed in the middle of the event after a refund would have been possible.
I strongly recommend to stray away from this place for tournaments if they have more than 1 event happening on the same night as you will be extremely disappointed in how they run their events as they can't even have 1 of the 3 people working there come and run a tournament. They have a nice stock of singles but I genuinely wouldn't even waste your time coming here at all due to...
