Cinecenta — Local services in Saanich

As a UVic student in the 80s, I was a regular patron of Cinecenta. Last night I went back for the first time in many years. The seats are reupholstered, but still the same design as they were 35 years ago. They still serve "damn fine popcorn". The sound and picture quality were good for the movie that I saw. It's a great place for limited release films, art house movies, old classics, even the occasional live speaker or musician. Great movie going experience indeed and great location also!! If you do NOT drive, 6 buses (4, 7, 11, 14 and 15) plus the 26 (Esquimalt Dockyard to uvic) will get you there!! Independent movies are mostly shown with either movie stars that you have NEVER EVER even heard of before and or an occasional movie star that you know and admire!! These movies would NEVER EVER be shown in a traditional movie theater like Capital 6 and or The Ideon and or even Silver City either,...

Pay parking was surprise expense. Popcorn was really bad. They just poured topping on it with a ladle and just polluted my whole bag of popcorn. It was really soggy and unpleasant to eat. The movie I saw was really bad. It was really not a great experience. I left part way through the movie since I wasn't really enjoying any part of the experience.
