If this was your first time at Nocturnus, I can almost appreciate your experience.
If it was your 10th time, or your 100th time or even you 1000th time, I would lean into your review further.
I thank you for it.
But please do allow room for the truth of the experience of Nocturnus.
What you don't see in between your visits are the innumerable social media messages seeking spiritual guidances.
What you don't see are two adults who choose to devote their time to establishing real partnerships with real quality suppliers.
Which in turn, results in real quality products made available to all of the patrons. Young* and old.
(*This is also key.)
Additionally, staging a location for retail takes constant work and application of attention.
Let me see you talk about that interior, the layout, the selection, the hand picked herbs that are available.
Using those "hand picked herbs" as a vehicle of thought around their work, please follow my contribution to your post.
These herbs have seasons, cycles and individual requirements in order for a proper harvest to take place and thus, there are many phases to many things within that space.
What brought you into this shop was the accumulation of a cultivated craft, extended through talent and time that has satisfied a great many people, consistently, across time.
Have you ever burnt a 3 hour incense stick that deliver aromatherapy and raised thinking? Every. Single. Time?
Me neither. This is a testament to one of their best selling products.
As this is a two person operation, one person is crafting and one person is providing knowledge and service.
Knowledge and service, especially applied in places of care and concern, without reprise had an effect.
I want you to imagine a scenario where a young girl, embarking on a very personal path or pursuit, seeking guidance (for free, and at length, at times) for, in some cases, the beginning of a relationship with themselves...do think that this should be dispensed willy-nilly??
Should the application of life advice, ceremony, ritual, proper accordance to craft and art, origins, truths, divination, tarot readings, commission advice, community direction, astrological scheduling...
Do you not think this comes at a cost?
Shame on you and this single star.
I challenge you to not treat these spaces and experiences as trivial or the act of ordering a can of pop from a vending machine and truly see people for who there and respect that life happens all around you and independent of you.
Shame on you for expecting that come before the person you are before.
I welcome you, I challenge you and I invite you, to go back and speak your intent and don't leave up the expectations of a moment to satisfy you.
These are really good people and that can be good to you but you must willing to accept life as it presents itself and meet it on its terms.
And be human. You don't know the size of the rock in a person shoes and it would do us all well if we could be human.
I hope you can back in allow that to be your experience.
You will find the hype is true and these two are the truth and have 1000s of customers for a reason.
I am sorry for your experience and I am sorry that I have to disagree with you.
Signed, some fan from Ontario hooked on their incense!!

If you know, you know.
I am not magical but I am black and what that means within the context of this review, is that I have particular skin care needs.
At a baseline, I get by with Vaseline. That is a dermal "faux pas" (apparently) but I get by with it. I like Jergens too. I love shea coco butter too.
Needless to say, my skin care choices are my own.
Recently, I suffered a very extreme skin burn via engine steam. Fairly nasty.
Now...I could have certainly used what I have available but in this instance, I was advised to use this naturally made salve, as produced IN HOUSE, from Nocturnus.
Now this is where the magic comes in.
I have worked in kitchens. I have lit my face on fire and required medical treatment. I have managed a wood burning pizza oven. I know a few things about burns and burn recovery. Not everything mind you but I know what my healing factor looks like and it doesn't look like this.
This, has been, by far, THE BEST skin product I have used, as far as burn trauma recovery goes.
The speed...the quality of my skin...the immediate tingling feeling of each application...
I cannot explain what goes into these salves.
I can express that if you need a good topical treatment for your skin, stop into Nocturnus for this and so much more. Look at these before and after shots peeps.
And should you see that beautiful woman behind the counter named Marie, you tell her some guy from Ontario says hello and says thank you.
I am made better by her care, attention to detail and knowledge. You would do well to heed it too.
More importantly, you would do well to frequent Nocturnus Metaphsysical in Saskatoon. Quite the shop.
A fan...
Read moreNocturnus is an amazing metaphysical store! They have magickal handcrafted products (teas, bath prodcts, incense, oil blends, candles, salves - the list could go on.) They also have herbs & supplies to allow you to make your own creations. Their stock includes an excellent array of crystals, tarot & oracle cards & books.
They sell the wares of many local artisans & support other small businesses. I have learned about many makers, whose products I love, through Nocturnus. There are so many unique products, jewelry & gifts courtesy of these talented individuals.
Tom & Marie have a great deal of knowledge in history, magic, gardening, herbs, spellwork, and on, that they kindly share with their customers. Their knowledge has helped me discover which books & products will be helpful to me in my spiritual journey. I love the inviting atmosphere of the store, the coziness & the beautiful art that is hidden everywhere, in plain site, if you take time to look. I feel so grateful to have such a fantastic shop in Saskatoon with such comprehensive & gracious proprietors. It is my favourite...
