Burleigh Falls — Local services in Selwyn

We have been going to Burleigh Falls restaurant for a number of years and I have to finally write a review that the last few times just have been terrible with the food and the Hostess that greets at the door not welcoming at all, same Hostess last few times. The wait staff has been good. The food was way too salty and soggy, we order the lime Tortilla's and the fish and chips and they seemed like they were soaked in table salt brine. We should have just returned and walked out, but I was very hungr and ate it. Now we are suffering the consequences with heart palpitations and great thirst. Canada Day weekend, a group of us decided to come beat the heat with a swim. There was probably 40 people if not more all swimming. The only downfall is the fact that people could clearly see everyone swimming yet people were fishing where we were all swimming. Within 15 minutes we kept seeing people get there hook stuck on a rock and cutting the line .. This made us feel uncomfortable swimming as we didn't want to get a hook stuck in our foot! If people are swimming, you would think you would be considerate and not fish there especially when it was so busy...

Beautiful spot . You can swim bellow falls although I recommend a life jacket because it's moving water. Limited parking close but there is a lock and restaurants walking distance from falls. My biggest complaint is the garbage that gets left by people . There are no garbage cans so people please take your garbage with you. As well the fishing line and hooks that are carelessly left.
