I was making a purchase totalling around $103 something and I had three Dollarama gift cards worth $25 each, a total of $75. That meant I should have only needed to pay about $30 something out of pocket including the tax. But the cashier told me I still owed over $50, which made no sense. She only swiped each gift card once, didn’t speak during the transaction, didn’t greet me, and showed no willingness to explain anything. When I politely asked her to check the cards again, she flat-out refused and said, "I don't know, just pay the balance and we'll see the receipt later." She also told me she couldn't call anyone for help when I asked. As someone who has worked in customer service and cashier roles, I would never ignore a customer's concern like that especially when something clearly wasn’t adding up. Eventually, a manager came over, but they were just as rude and unhelpful. No greeting, no acknowledgment just started swiping the cards again. And as it turns out, one of the cards still had a $25 balance, just like I thought. This whole experience left me feeling disrespected and dismissed. Mistakes happen, but ignoring a customer, refusing help, and offering no basic courtesy is...
Read moreThe location is great with large parking area, lotsa good selection of stuffs. I love to shop in this location since it is close to where I live. The downside are the sales’ associates, even that lady manager. I noticed a lot of chocolates that were marked as 2 for $1.50, I grabbed a few and when I was ready to pay, they told me that those are .82cents each. This happened several times already. The descriptions are correct and they have lots on the shelf but they do not honor the price they advertised. I know it’s just a few cents but it’s not right, it’s definitely false advertising. I don’t think they know about the price scanning code of practice, even that manager has no idea. Also I noticed that they do not care when they’re blocking the whole aisle with their flat cart full of boxes when they’re merchandising. As a customer with children it is very dangerous. You cannot pass through one aisle or another to get what you need because flat carts, boxes, and even ladders are not properly set aside. Like literally blocking the aisle, boxes on the floor. Associates and manager do not greet customers, they just mind their own business as long as they’re...
Read moreNow that the masks have come off, it's good to know that you can still find consistency. Not much has changed that requires a significant update to this previous review: The greatest part of the Dollarama experience is how consistently awful you feel about yourself when you shop there. It's good to know that in these turbulent times and ever shifting playing fields, the sense that you've made some kind of mistake, some sort of vague sensation that impending disappointment awaits as the result of this episode just naturally comes over you. You, the intrepid shopper of bargains, the enigmatic searcher for deals, can't stop the sensation of failure from knowing that even if by some odd fortunes you do find what you came in there for, you are nevertheless destined to encounter the lowest of low quality. After all, you're in the Dollarama, and if the items were any better they wouldn't be here. Even fully vaxed, you'll still be made queasy by this...
