Nortown foods — Local services in Toronto

We shop regularly at this store. The quality of their meats and fish is very good. Their prices are on the high end but you do pay for what you get. Unfortunately, the service and friendliness of the staff is not always exemplary. For instance, today I went to pick up several items including fish. I asked the gentleman who served me if he could cut it in pieces for me and put it in individual bags. He refused, saying "you do that yourself; I don’t have time". He was blunt and rude. He eventually did so but reluctantly. I asked as it makes it easier for me because of my physical challenges. There are better ways to answer a customer’s request. I find it surprising the number of limited reviews about Nortown Foods. I frequent the Promenade location, and have ever since they opened. Always a pleasant experience. The staff are usually bubbly and in great spirits. The fresh food and the meat and fish are always beautifully displayed: clean and fresh. Is it pricey: not really considering what you are getting. I wish that they would move further north to the Rutherford and Bathurst area. Getting in and out of the Promenade is nuts, and it will get worse once that the demolition and construction begins. My Favorite store I have been going since I was a little kid. There Staff and owner at Yorks Mills and Bayview FANTASTIC. EVERYTHING FULL OF FLAVOURS SINCE MY MOTHER PASSED LAST YEAR THERE GIFLET FISH IS THE BEST. A REAL YIDDISH TAM. THERE CHOP LIVER IS GREATTTTT. I LIVE IN OAKVILLE AND GO AT LEAST 2 TIMES A MONTH AND STOCK UP. MIAMI RIBS AND THE MARINATES SO GO TO NORTHTOWN IF YOU NEVER BEEN ITS FABULOUS. TELL THEM PAPPA JACK FROM OAKVILLE SENT YOU.
