All in all, a decent everyday Go To for grocery shopping. You can find most of your daily cooking and eating needs for a typical Pacific Rim Asian meal. The most outstanding feature of Pacific Fresh Food (on Jane) is the LIVE seafood department. The live lobster, crab, clams and fish are highlights of the fresh seafood available at Pacific. The quality is equivalent to that of T&T, though don't expect the same level of Customer Service. Due to the surrounding demographic who patronise the store, staff have become worn down emotionally and have developed a defensive attitude to deal with some of the disrespectful and criminal minded that have plagued Jane and Finch for far too long. There is a reason the neighbourhood has such a tarnished reputation. Pacific Fresh Food Market is a victim of having good intentions fail them, when they moved to the area bringing delicious nutrition and increased selection to an area where No Frills and Freshco dominate the market share due to their pricing scheme and target demographic appeal. Pacific also has a hot food corner which helps provide a small but consistently good selection of Chinese BBQ and hot prepared meal boxes. IMO, it is the best place to go to for a quick, delicious and filling meal that embraces "value". Pacific Fresh Food Market could benefit from a fresh deli section like their other location in Pickering. Being near York University and other schools with a solid customer base that embraces deli offerings on a weekly basis as part of its diet, it would be a no-brainer for Pacific to open and instantly enjoy a new channel of profit generation while providing a much needed and appreciated section of fresh salads, fruit, sandwiches and deli meats with cheeses to match. But, I digress. Back to the existing business model Pacific has.. a reliable and consistent Go To for every day grocery shopping with a live and fresh seafood counter that is even better than Metro Supermarkets is somewhere you should go to. Just be forgiving of the poor souls who have worked there for years and have had to endure ridiculous behaviour from too many customers who thought they were royalty of some kind and deserved to be revered for their mere presence. The staff are victims of idiotic customers who have made them paranoid of everyone now. The entire brand of Pacific is a victim of having moved to the neighbourhood. Mind you, Customer Service could use a little tweeking.

BE VERY CAUTIOUS shopping here, cashiers ALWAYS make mistakes with pricing. My family has complained to me numerous times on how many occasions they came to this location, had tremendous difficulty with pricing, cashiers always making mistakes. It's not just one cashier, it's ALL OF THEM. Today, I witnessed first hand. I came in with my mother for a quick trip for some snacks. We ended up buying some snacks where there was a mistake. we told the cashier, she adjusted the price after her co-worker confirmed the pricing. It's no big deal at all, I get it, mistakes happen. But, every time??!!! This happens way too often! The professionalism of the cashiers is a joke, no Hi, hello, Not even a sorry... Every time my mother goes to this store, she has to look at the computer screen to ensure she's not getting ripped off!!This never happens at Freshco, Nofrills, Longos, Loblaws, Etc. This has happened to numerous members of my family and friends, some too tired to go back in and have to deal with the hassle. This is OUTRAGEOUS! This has happened to my mother EVERY single time she comes in here, there's a mistake. PLEASE be weary of your bill, and make sure the prices you see in store reflect that of what you are paying. This place is awesome. For groceries and finding live food or meats it fine. But, the food place is terrible. I dont know if he had an issue with me but he seemed almost mad at me when I was just trying to get my food. Then, knowing full well I came to order he started trying to help a different costumer. Lucky, she said I was ahead of her. But, he was pissed off I guess because I asked for spring rolls and he just tossed a few in and gave me the box. Then went right back to the lady who he was so happy to help. Now, im not trying to make any accusations but, in my personal opinion I think it was racial. Everyone or there included the lady was of his descent and im black. So, why he treated me differently from everyone else I do not know. But, that doesn’t really matter what matters is the spring rolls which honestly sucked. They were tasteless and somehow cold. I’ve come here many times before and most of the other food is good. I wouldn’t be to upset however because I still think the food is good it just might have been out for a while.
