Retro Quest — Local services in Toronto

I emailed Retro Quest a couple of weeks ago to enquire about a potential PS4 Slim HDMI Port replacement. I was told it was going to cost $65 and they would be able to do it. I dropped the PS4 off at the store to get replaced and was told it would take about 2 days to get repaired. A couple of days later, I was told that it would take a week to get fixed which was a red flag. I said okay and waited patiently for a couple of more days to get my PS4 repaired. After a week of waiting, I received a message saying the PS4 cannot be repaired. At this point I was quite angry as I patiently waited 1 week for the repair but at the end nothing happened. I picked the PS4 up from the store and when I got home I noticed the HDMI Port had been installed Upside down. At this point I was thinking that the PS4 has been tampered with because the top lid of the PS4 has been changed as it has scratches and dents that weren’t there before. I gave them a call to ask if they can’t fix the port properly as it is upside down but they declined. For all I know, the parts inside my PS4 may have been stolen or replaced with fakes. These people don’t know what they are doing and...

This is a tiny retro games store, but that's not a bad thing at all... And yes, on my first visit, I was like "Where is this place ?" he's in the South East corner of the parking lot.

The thing about a well managed tiny store is that all the good stuff is right there, under glass, sorted by price. They seem to keep doubles hidden away, so you may need to ask if you want to see more than one example. Given the tiny space, it's surprisingly not cluttered, it's just full of games, to the exact right level. :)

I've met the very friendly owner a few times. He's always tested my new games before I've left the store, which saves me a long drive back. He also gives a reasonable right to return, if the cart fails right after purchase. I've been able to pick up some of the harder to find and more sought after NES & SNES titles here. I have absolutely loved the service I've received at this store, at this time I've been there three times once as recently as last night.

I've both bought games from and sold them games, and they have been fair.

They always verify the games are working, and clean the discs to the best of their abilities before giving it to me, and have even told me if it doesn't work to bring it back and they'll either replace it or give me my money back.

I will continue to go to this place as long as the service continues to be great, the people working there are very polite and are good with conversation.

It's a forty minute walk for me, but each time it has been worth it. If you're looking for a good retro game store to go to, I HIGHLY...
